Another week, another game of the century. This time we'll have to wait through 15 other games -- until Monday night, when the Patriots face the Saints in New Orleans, the second meeting in three weeks with an unbeaten team for New England. And the second one in prime time, so the nation can watch to see if Bill Belichick, holding a six-point lead with two minutes left, might go for it on fourth-and-2 at his own 28 to keep the ball away from Drew Brees.
Given that situation again, he probably would. But not because a variety of "football scientists'' and mathematicians, who surfaced after the try in Indy. Belichick doesn't believe in cottage industries, publicity seekers or New York Times bloggers telling him what to do.
The odds guys make the Saints a three-point favorite in this one, meaning they (or the bettors) figure the teams are even and New Orleans gets the home field. Home field? The Pats might think so -- this is where they won the first of their Super Bowls, although other than Tom Brady and Kevin Faulk and Matt Light, there aren't any left from that game in January of 2002.
I keep thinking -- and writing -- that the Saints will lose one. But it's getting to crunch time. If it's not this one, then what? At Washington, at Atlanta, and home to Dallas are the next three. All possible (yes, even the Skins) but none as possible as this one.
Law of averages.

Eagles logo fail
Fixed -- sorry about that
Can't see the Colts losing to Houston.
I realized why soccer is so boring. 99 percent of their drives are turnovers. The defensive side in soccer doesn't even have to pressure of be near the ball. Even if the offense stalls in football, you see great defensive plays. Great sports is not played with just one part of the body. Look at baseball. If someone hits the ball into the stands, it's awesome power. That's why baseball, football and basketball are such great sports. Beside countries that play soccer do so because they can't afford any equipment.
I admire Goldberg for picking using the spread. My major disagreement with his selections is that Dallas will beat Oakland 42-10.

I dont know fur....Oakland is flying high after beating Cincinatti. Oakland has some confidence now. Score will be much closer
No I disagree with these fantasy people. Saints will beat the Pats easily 24-21! They will come 11-0 while the colts loose to the Texans 21-17!
are you stupic or something?
COLTS WIN!!!
Hey killergator, guess what?? COLTS WIN.....AGAIN!!!

I should have looked at your second score before forming an opinion........YUP ,,,you are stupid...
Are u serious? I bet that you don't even know how to count! that's better!
I can count, I just cant read I guess...I dont know why but I read your score as something other than a few point spread....oh well...
You couldn't even spell the word stupid right the first time! lol
any given day you can win or lose. but the good teams find a way win games they should lose. colts #5 in offense and #1 in points allowed. best team on paper and heart.period
Colts win!! As usual.... Don't care about Saints/Pats game. Don't like either team to even watch the game.
Loose?? Do you mean Lose?
