The Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants will play a very important game Sunday afternoon. Both teams are part of a 5-4 logjam in the NFC standings. The winner of this tilt is in a very good position to make the NFC playoffs, and the Giants are in desperate need of a win after four straight losses.

The Falcons will reportedly be missing a key player in the game Sunday, as running back Michael Turner will be inactive.

The news comes from ESPN's Rachel Nichols and John Clayton, who say Turner will be inactive. He suffered a high ankle sprain in the Falcons' loss to Carolina last week. Those injuries can be quite tough to bounce back from, and apparently Turner will miss at least this week.

Nichols reports that Jason Snelling will start in Turner's place, as No. 2 back Jerious Norwood is still battling a hip injury. Snelling, a late-round pick in 2007, will be making his first NFL start. He has rushed for 183 yards so far this season, while catching 14 passes. He has three career touchdowns.
