Early this season, running back Jerome Harrison was an integral part of the Cleveland Browns' offense. In Week 3, he had 21 touches (16 carries and five catches) and in Week 4 he had a whopping 34 touches, with 29 carries and five catches. But Harrison's role in the offense has steadily declined, to the point where in Monday night's loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Harrison never got the ball.
That has Harrison so unhappy that he told reporters he'd rather not talk to them -- because he's sure nothing good would come of him saying what he thinks.
Even if Harrison isn't going to talk to the media, however, Browns coach Eric Mangini wishes Harrison would talk to his coach.
"Anything that he wants to talk about, he can come talk with me at any point, just like all these guys can," Mangini said, per the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
As to the specifics of why Harrison isn't as involved in the offense as he used to be, Mangini said it's basically just a numbers game: Mangini says running backs Jamal Lewis and Chris Jennings are getting the bulk of the work.
'"It's not like some other positions where you can play multiple guys at the same time," Mangini said. "You can create some packages like that, but there's one. You have certain things that you like Jamal to do. You have certain things that Jerome does. You have certain things that you want to see Chris do."
Regardless of the specific reasons that Harrison has been phased out of the offense, it's clear that a whole lot of players in Cleveland aren't happy with the way Mangini is running the team. Some of them will say so, while others, like Harrison, don't want to say what they really think.

Harrison is smart, why risk any issues down the road with a hack like Mangina, Mangina will be gone soon, and no sense in raising any issue of being labeled as a trouble maker with the next coaching staff. With a little luck, Cleveland will land a real coaching staff not the King moron and his cast of loser assistants.
MANGINA SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You sucks Matt. Mangini is a good coach just coaching a bad team with a awful offensive Coordinator he the one that should be fired. The Browns has no offense a pretty good defense you should be glad to have Rod Ryan as the DC. There no way that anyone can take bad teams like the Browns to the playoff in his frist year.
You have to be kidding....."You SUCKS Matt"....You must be a Steelers fan. With that awesome response, wow, amazing, it was almost like I could tell you would back MANGINA right away with that opening......
Well....enough said, look at todays game, Manginas on his way out, hoping it is this week. Loss to Detroit is supposed to be his swan song out of Cleveland.....
Hey "TheeIrishman" I am going to guess you are a big Mangina supporter, maybe you can help him pack and get out of Cleveland. Reading and writing will not be a requirement to help him lug around some boxes, so you should do well with this task since basic english and writting does not seem to be your stronger side, no doubt your a complex individual.
Matt, I agree with you however your "writting" doesn't seem to be your strong side either unless that was an attempt at sarcasm?.
Even a bad team with bad players would be better if we had a coaching staff that had any brains. I bet the current Browns/Clowns could not beat who ever wins Division 1 football in Ohio. We need a strong GM and a coaching staff that knows how to win. ENOUGH ALREADY! We went from bad to worse.
Mangino is not a good coach, all he does is serve to alienate the team and he is doing it yet again. I thought they liked jerome at the beginning of the year. Yes the team has a bad off. coordinator, but if i was GM or driector of player personnel, I would trade Quinn to assure us of a number one pick and also get the QB I think can do the job right eventually. It is time to stop rebuilding and start having a winning team. The defense is good enough to improve with the current d. coordinator. They just been on the field toooooo long. The Browns need to get some playmakers on offense and I propose they look at someone like shipley out of Texas because he reminds me alot of welker from New England. The QB i propose to get can be had in the second round with Jevan Snead from I think Miss. st.,( correct me if I am wrong) And I would also consider dez Bryant from oklahoma state. He is a playmaker. They can open up the offense a little.
Matt... it's no doubt you're a complex individual not your. Maybe too complex... But I do agree with you Man Genius has to go...
