Week 10's punt-fest between the Browns and Ravens was one of the worst Monday Night games in recent memory. The Ravens' offense struggled to move the ball consistently, and the Browns' offense was nothing but two-yard dive plays into the middle of the line and wide receiver screens that Baltimore's defense blew up before they even had a chance to develop. As a result, the only thing anybody still wants to talk about after the Ravens' 16-0 win is Brady Quinn's low-block on an interception return in the third quarter, when he knocked linebacker Terrell Suggs out of the game with a knee injury. According to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times, early MRI results revealed a partially torn MCL for the pass-rushing linebacker, and he could miss the next two to three weeks.
In case you missed it, here's the play:
Naturally, it infuriated everybody on the Ravens' side of the field, from All-Pro linebacker Ray Lewis, to Suggs' agent, Gary Wichard, who said: "That cat should be fined as much as anybody is fined that hits the quarterback. That's ridiculous. I don't understand what he was trying to do. It was blatant. It's absolutely criminal. It's about as nasty as it gets."
As far as the fine is concerned, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported on Wednesday that Quinn had been issued a "significant" fine from the NFL for the hit.
Assuming Suggs misses the next two games, it could be a costly injury -- the Ravens play host to the undefeated Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, and divisional rival Pittsburgh the following week.
In nine games this season the 27-year-old Suggs has 3.5 sacks, 42 tackles, four pass defenses and a forced fumble.

This was a "Nasty" hit. Say what you want... It does affect the Ravens play. The Ravens have one of the toughest 2nd half schedules in the NFL. The timing of this was horrible.
He should be fined. It should be hefty.
It is strange to hear someone else's name mentioned as a criminal in the same paragraph as Ray Lewis...awfully hypocritical
He always talks about hits take it like a man...they try to kill the QB every time they rush now you got yours
say what you want but I seen the hit he went low to stop a LINEBACKER running full speed he is a quarterback should have never tried to tackle him anyway was guts just to lower shoulder to stop him could have been him hurt easier than Suggs iis part of the game too bad is was hurt but get over it and the league should look at that play again was not intentional no fine should levied
I am a Steelers Fan first off and yeeeeah...that was a Nasty hit but I don't think Brady Quinn meant to hurt anyone. Seriously, I don't.
Now I know...I just know...ole "Rocket-Head Ray Lewis" ain't talking about bad hits after that 'paralyzer' he put on Chad Johnson a coupla weeks ago! That he CLAIM he didn't mean to do. Luckily, little (compared to RL) Cinco's huge Ego got him back up. I like Ray but on this one he needs to just sit his large 'motor-running mouth' down because he done put em' down his self. He prides his self on Nasty Hits. It has just been luck he hasn't crack someone the wrong way. "...it was blatant...he don't know what he
(Quin) was trying to do"! I know what he was trying to do Ray...what you always try and do...shut the play down. It was unfortunate. Quit acting like you don't know.
I agree with what you are saying. Ray and company are thugs, for proof just look at the "hit" they put out on mendenhall last year. the went gunning for him and put him out for the year. And these are the first guys to complane about dirty hits, what a bunch of low lifes.
Lewis' agent referred to Brady as "criminal"? Seriously? The only "criminal" I saw playing in this game was Ray Lewis. Let's not forget, people, he IS a murderer. What a hypocrite!
Um, NO, he's NOT "a murderer"! He was accused that, but to quote Wikipedia (feel free to do your own research if you don't like them):
***
During the trial, several witnesses whose testimony would supposedly prove Lewis’ guilt had altered their stories initially given to investigators. Their testimonies were supposed to show that Ray Lewis hit, kicked or stabbed someone, and that he even admitted as much afterwards. Instead, the vast majority of testimony had either been inconclusive, or else supported the defense’s contention that Lewis acted solely as a peacemaker, trying to prevent a tragedy that he would be tied to and potentially hurt his career. According to ESPN legal analyst, Alan J. Baverman, "as to Ray Lewis, there is no evidence that he assisted anybody in a stabbing or encouraged anybody to do a stabbing which would make him a party to felony murder, malice murder, or felony assault with a knife."

Remember, an accusation is not proof. Check your facts.
remember, o.j. walked too
Wow!!! Damn Wow...enough of the murder tears...talk about FOOTBALL. The topic is hits!...Geez turn tha' page.
First off, it's football. Secondly, it really wasn't that low of a hit. And last, BOO HOO!!!!!!
what!!!!!
After watching the clip several times, all I can say is BULL. The hit was well above the knee. Mid thigh at the lowest. Let me see if I got this right, you can't tackle or block below the waist, in the back or around the head area. That only leaves belly bumps, 'cause if you hit them in the chest with your head it is a penalty for spearing. I must have missed the news when they made football a no contact sport. If it is gonna be flag football, just do it so I can cancel my season tickets for next year. To all the whiners, where you a few years ago when Hasselbeck was called for blocking below the waist when in reality he was making a tackle on the interceptor.I realize in was an unimportant game to most so you may not remember it. It was the Superbowl. The more these guys make the less they want to risk.
I agree! The hit was belt buckle and high thighs first. No intent to injure. The NFL is on a course to flag football.
The Ravens are crying about a dirty play? And from a quaterback who only knows enough about hitting to throw his boddy in the way in order to bring a man down? Quine was just trying to look as if he was giving an effeort to stop the play while the main thing in his mind was to not hurt himself. In the process, the man ran into him at the wrong place in his stride. Thets it! Quine fell at the dude feet and thats all he was trying to do. Cry me a friggin riverRay, Mr Tough Guy! You of all paople should know that it happens.
F the Ravens. Ray Lewis ought to be in jail with about half of the Ravens squad. They are a bunch of thugs. I can't blame a QB for going low. What do you want him to do? Stand there and watch. He wasn't trying to hurt anybody, but when Ray Lewis hit Chad Johnson and knocked his helmet of as he was clearly trying to hurt him and nothing happened where was the outcry?
ray lewis? really? you wanna listen to the dirtiest player in the nfl? the one who prides himself on trying to hurt people? golly gee mr. agent man why are you upset? duh! but this "block" (not a tackle - a block) was low? the nfl needs to pull its head out and ray lewis and everyone else complaingin about this block needs to shut up. if ray lewis (who should be in jail and nothing he will ever say reaches my brain becuz he shouldnt even be playing in the nfl) had made a tackle in the exact same way this block was delivered everyone would be talking about what a great tackle by one o the greatest tacklers (murderers) in the nfl.
whatever - ya bunch of babies
Ha, Ray Lewis, big crybaby murderer talking about a bad hit,,,,wow, let's not count the countless "criminal" hits you do to everybody else, but I didn't see you crying then. You're only whining now cause your boy is out for a few games and the Ravens suck!! Go Bengals!!!
they should be called the baltimore thugs not ravens ,suggs got just what he would have gladly handed out if given the same chance.baltimore is nothing but a bunch of street criminals, right down to that murder ray lewis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes the filth that comes out of people's mouth on AOL is amazing. It should have a quick fine by the NFL and then there would have had to be no comments by any Ravens. The fact that the NFL was so slow to respond is the problem. It always turns racial here. It was a hit that should have been penalized. I don't think Brady "intended" to hit that low. I just think that when you combine that he's playing horribly this year, coupled with the fact that HE'D thrown the interception that he was just being ZEALOUS in trying to do his part to correct his own mistake. Sometimes in zealousness you do stupid things and think that is all was. That being said, a rule is a rule and Brady SHOULD HAVE BEEN FINED.
I'm so sick and tired of all you haters out there who continue to call Ray Lewis a Murderer! All you Raven Haters can all go F yourselves to death!
