Tony and October GonzalezFLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- When Tony Gonzalez met with the press on Wednesday before practice, the normal preparatory queries involving the Atlanta Falcons' upcoming Week 10 game against the Carolina Panthers came up. But Gonzalez also spoke about an ad where he and wife, October Gonzalez, posed nude. The photo shoot took place during the offseason and was for the PETA campaign, "Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur".

"It's something that me and my wife, we talked about it and felt very strongly about it," says Gonzalez. "It's a great cause."

Gonzalez said that he and October felt compelled to participate in the ad campaign after watching video and looking at pictures on the PETA website. "The pictures that I saw were pretty gruesome," Gonzalez said. "It's definitely inhumane."

Gonzalez also spoke about some of the good-natured ribbing he's received in the locker room since his teammates found out about the ad. And he reacted to the admission by one of his Falcons teammates that it's a little awkward seeing Gonzalez and his wife naked together: "My wife is a pretty woman, she's like a flower," Gonzalez said. "It's nice to be looked at. "

Some of his teammates have approached him, jokingly, with comments that Gonzalez wouldn't repeat. "It's all in good fun," said the All-Pro tight end. "If you do something like that, you'd better be prepared."
