NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor was arrested Sunday for leaving the scene of an accident/property damage, news first reported by TMZ.The arrest occurred in Dade County, Fla., where Taylor was booked at a local police station and released on $500 bond. A Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson told the Associated Press that Taylor was involved in a hit-and-run crash. The former NFL star told police that he thought he had hit a guard rail. No one was injured in the incident.
Taylor, a 10-time Pro Bowl selection in his 13 pro seasons -- all with the Giants -- was recently a competitor on the reality TV show "Dancing With the Stars," but has had previous run-ins with the law.
Taylor was arrested four times between 1996 and 1998 -- twice for allegedly attempting to buy crack from an undercover cop, once for failing to pay child support, and a fourth time for possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
He was also suspended for 30 days during the 1988 season after failing a drug test, then entered drug rehab twice in 1995 following his retirement. Taylor won two Super Bowls during his career and the Giants retired his No. 56 jersey at the start of the 1995 season.

And why are we not surprised by this incident? Does this mean they have to blow up all his TV commercials? Loser is as loser does. Sickening.

He hit a guard rail huh??? Yeah...ok. You'd think he'd come up with a better story than that, that's just bad and has lie written all over it. Oh well, guess when you get away with so much your lies don't have to be all that good now do they? Maybe one day people like LT will finally realize if you just do RIGHT then you don't have to worry about getting into trouble. Then again, lief would be so BORING if people like LT couldn't just do whatever they wanted and had plenty of people acking themup saying it's ok or no big deal. It'll always be "no big deal" until LT kills one of your family or friends, then you'll finally see poeple like LT just as he is...a thug. Being very good at playing a GAME makes you no different than anyone else, only that you're good at a GAME. We all are very good at something only the vast majority of us know for a fact we can't just go and do whatever we feel like doing. Oh well, come on all you sportsman lovers, who think they do no wrong, speak up, we need to hear all your wisdom! As for me, I LOVE sports but HATE thugs! How about you???

So what does previous arrests from 1996-98, a suspension from his job 11 years ago, and drug rehab in 1995 have to do with a vehicle crash that occurs in 2009? Do you feel that your story will only be read if it has something negative to report about your "enemy"?

Sure, people can change but in most cases when the past has repeated itself that usually means they are not or will not change. his past run-ins with the law shows his lack of respect for other things and others excpt for himself. Many people who have so much only want more or want only what they can get regardless of who they may hurt in the process. His past does make a difference just like yours or mine does. Sure, they are reporting him in a negitive light but gee, do YOU honestly beleive that he hit a guard rail??? YOU might want to make other excuses for this guy but that "story" is very lame and just plain a lie. You know it and I know it. Looks like his past is making a BIG difference in his actiosn today now doesn't it.

When you have been told since 7th grade that you are an athlete and therefore you are special, you realise that the rules don't apply to you.

Did anyone think that he was probably under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and by leaving the scene bought himself time to sober up?

Tim Lincecum just got pulled over as well. Is he a young version of LT? Could be, drugs know no ethnic backrounds..Same as steriods..Nice role models we have...But LT in his prime was the BEST linebacker i have ever seen to date..Ask Joe Thiesman..
