After entering the National Football League in 1996 as a third-round selection, Terrell Owens has put up some big-time numbers in his 14-year career. He's the NFL's active touchdown leader with 142 scores. He's second among active receivers to Isaac Bruce with 14,364 career receiving yards. He's also been a six-time Pro-Bowler. But, when asked what his goal for 2009 entailed, Owens didn't shoot for the moon like you would expect a player with his accolades to do. In fact, all Owens wants to do is outperform Dallas wide receiver Roy Williams.
As it stands right now, Owens has 242 yards receiving on 18 catches and one touchdown. He's played in all seven of the Bills' games thus far and averages 13.4 yards per reception.Owens opened his media briefing with a laugh and said: "I've been looking at my stats compared to Roy E. Williams' stats over there in Dallas, and my goal is to have better stats than him at the end of the season."
Asked if he regrets signing with Buffalo, Owens said:
"No, not at all. Everything happens for a reason. There are times, I'm human, and it's frustrating. I never want to go back and rethink things. But that's the nature of it."
Williams, on the other hand, has only played in five of Dallas' six games and has 12 receptions for 230 yards and a touchdown. Williams averages 19.2 yards per reception.
The first glaring detail upon looking at the schedules for both teams shows that Dallas has 10 games remaining -- Buffalo only nine. If both receivers play in all of their remaining games, it would seem that Williams has an advantage. But remaining games don't paint the full picture.
By taking a look at the strength of schedule for both teams' remaining games in reference to receiving yards allowed, you'll see that Buffalo has a much easier time. In the nine games left for Buffalo, they only face three defenses in the top-10 in receiving yards allowed. The average rank of the defenses left to face is 18.4. Dallas, unfortunately for Williams in this competition he didn't ask to compete in, faces seven top-10 receiving defenses with an average rank of 8.5.
Owens definitely has an easier road to travel and should be able to easily win this "bet", even though he has one less game to play. He also probably knew that the schedule favored him before he opened his mouth. Because you wouldn't think that Terrell Owens would stir up trouble aimlessly, without thinking about the consequences of his actions -- would you?

I think T.O will outperform ROY and prove his point ,J.G AND TONY HOMO targeted more passes to Jason Witten than anyone else on the team. Jason Witten has 33 rec.(which leads the team) so for this season and Roy only has 12.That puts Jason on pace for 88 rec. and Roy about 36.And even if they continue to go to Miles Austin he's only on pace for 56. Jerry Jones said he wanted the team to become "Romo Friendly." So, the team is trying to make sure everybody likes him and respects him.It doesn't win games.Roy will blow up before the season is over with, and they 'll blame him for everything like they did with T.O
Can't wait for them to come to Da Dome on Dec.19.

Tony Homo? Wow, you're SO original. Did you come up with that all by your little self? Very funny. You should be a stand-up comedian instead of a pimp.

What a total flaccid dick, maybe the goal would be to help his team out perform the Jets, Patriots, Miami, and the rest of the AFC before Cowboys and Williams? I guess it is too much to ask of such a self centered bore, in need of a huge nipple to suck on.
There are so many opportunities for someone to learn about how greatness is being more motivated towards team oriented goals than being an individualist moron.
How far has his standards fallen, and is there no one who can tell this idiot that for all his millions of dollars in the bank, the standard of great players in any sport were those who made the teammates better?

foxr1234,
I couldn't agree more with your sentiments regarding T(eam) O(bliterator). As far as his standards having fallen, however, I must disagree. His standards are right where they've always been; on himself. He has never been, and never will be a team player. That's exactly why he's been run out of town everywhere he's played. For a guy with such outstanding talent he's simply unbearable in the locker room.

Please stop pretending that you know what you are talking about. Let me put something in perspective for you.
Peyton Manning through his first 3 playoff games of his career: 0-3 record, 50/105 (47.6%), 558 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT, 59.1 QBRtg
Tony Romo through his first 2 Playoff games of his career: 0-2 record 28-48 345 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT, 85.9 QBRtg
Look at the big picture. Educate yourself. The Cowboys are fine with Romo. He is a thousand times better than Quincy Carter, Anthony Wright, Ryan Leaf, Clint Stoerner, Chad Hutchinson, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Henson, and Drew Bledsoe. Go troll somewhere else.

If this is TOs only goal for the season, Buffalo owner and fans should be outraged and demand a refund of TOs paid up front money and revoke his contract for admitting his only goal! What a loser

Should Owen's regret signing with the Buffalo Buffoons? you bet he should, they are pathetic. He could have signed with a team that is committed to winning, and the Buffalo Buffoons have not been committed to winning since the days of Marchibroda and Polian. Owen's should have known better when Ralph Wilson didnt fire Dick Jauron after 3 seasons finishing at 7-9, now the Buffoons stand at 3-5. Ralph Wilson doesnt deserve this franchise, sell the team, move them to Toronto...it's the only hope they have of ever winning a championship.

I am a Dallas Cowboy fan and I have been since Roger Starback {if spelled wrong you know who I mean} But they really disapointed me when they let T.O. Go. T.O. is my favorite player in the NFL. The media always gives him a bad rap for the least little thing he does. You never hear about him going to jail or doing drugs its just at some point and time somebody had a grudge on him and wants him to look like a bad person. He is a great ball player and The Cowboys was a good fit for him. Mr. Jones we've got to get him back and retire him a Cowboy. People do not let the media decide who we should and should not like, because one thing is for sure Mr. Owens always comes to play and thats all that should matter to us the rest of it is really none of our dam business.
