There was a Joe Gibbs sighting at a restaurant near the Washington Redskins complex on Tuesday that fueled more speculation that Gibbs might soon take an official role with the team.Redskins general manager Vinny Cerrato said that was not happening.
"Joe has a place in the area," Cerrato said. "He remains a friend of the Redskins. But no, he was not here today as part of something where he is coming aboard. Joe is too busy for that. He is not coming back."
Cerrato reaffirmed that coach Jim Zorn will remain coach for the rest of the season. Cerrato said of Washington's 27-17 loss at home to Philadelphia on Monday night: "We had some turnovers that hurt us and mistakes that cost us. But I thought the defense played hard and the offense took some good steps with Sherman Lewis calling the plays. We have a bye this week and we're hoping that can help us continue to take inventory on ways to improve this season."
Cerrato also confirmed that tight end Chris Cooley's broken bone in his right ankle could heal soon enough for Cooley's return in a month or less. The injury was considered season-ending when it occurred on Monday night.
"There is some good news in there after all," Cerrato said.

Not even the great Joe Gibbs could salvage this season. There is nothing to work with at this point. Thanks Dan, thanks Vinny. You two monkeys are making a mockery out of this once proud and storied franchise. Real Redskin Fans know it to be true. No light at the end of this tunnel. I wish Dan would do the honorable thing and sell the team to a real owner, an owner who would promptly arrive at HQ and kick Vinny's keester out of his undeserved and comfortable leather chair. Nice way to handle your QB dummy. Loads of confidence streaming through the locker room since coach z was stripped of the play calling. TRAIN WRECK. Yes that worked out well, Eagles never knew what hit 'em. Your destroying OUR team.

I have been a Skins fan since they first had summer camp in my hometown of Carlisle...as all Skins fans I have gone through the up's and down's of the past 30 plus years...but none have been as disappointing and disgusting as this season..There should be a cleaning house...starting at the very top...either Dan should sell the team or find a top notch President of Football Operations...that is the only way the Skins will attract the Head Coach they need..With that said, the next thing that should be addressed is the dire need of the O line, the QB and some new blood in the backfield..As much as we like all the veterans who give it their all, we new young hungry players who will rebuild and take the Skins back to the top of the NFC East.

Oh good lord!!..Not another Gibbs run with the Redskins! They were crappy even when he was their on his recent run with them! That team is a good QB and coach away honestly from being a contender. Redskins are not as horrible as the Rams or Bucs for sure.
They simply need to find a coach that can get respect from everyone and in turn draft/sign FAgents that will compliment the current players that are signed.
All this Redskins coverage lately is annoying. This team has been in the playoffs twice in the past 4 seasons if my memory serves me correctly. That's better then quite a few NFL teams. Yes, Jim Zorn might not make a great head coach and it looks as if he's really uncomfortable there. Jason Campbell just cant seem to be productive as a number one QB. He is best suited on the bench backing up or even a 3rd string!
I hate to write it but Redskin fans know it's true. I thought Campbell would be good but he has been too inconsistent. I am no shape or form a Redskin fan but I do like alot of the players on their teams over the years as just a fan in general.
At least you guys arent the Rams

The only "coming back" that can help this franchise now is if Jack Kent Cooke comes back.

Look at the Redskins for what they truly are at this time. A good defense that will be worn out, ineffective and with injuries before season's end if the offense can't keep them off the field to at least catch their breath. Portis ha lost a step, which in the NFL amounts to being relegated to a third down back. Campbell can't make and doesn't have the time to make enough good decisions to win a game, let alone stop from losing one. And let's not forget that going into the offseason that fans, commentators, analysts and anyone with the very basic understanding of the game knew the offensive line was more than suspect. What did the "brain trust" at Redskin Park do? Go for the flash hoping once again that shiny objects would keep the fan base loyal and distracted from the truth.
Danny boy is interested in money and making more of it. He could care less of how hard people have to work or pay to see a game or purchase anything at FedEx. A winning team or a losing team, it doesn't matter. He will make money either way. Until he and his cronies are gone, find something else to do on Sundays.
