We may never know exactly what happened the day former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, died. But it's clear from a new report by Armen Keteyian of CBS News that things didn't transpire exactly the way the police claimed.
The
latest revelation from Keteyian's three-month investigation is that police were wrong when they said Kazemi bought the gun she used to kill McNair and herself from a man who was basically a stranger. In reality, cell phone records obtained by CBS -- records overlooked by the police -- show that Kazemi and the man who allegedly sold her the gun, a convicted felon named Adrian Gilliam Jr., knew each other well and corresponded some 200 times.
Unfortunately, the CBS investigation ends there, and doesn't offer a satisfying conclusion about whether the facts overlooked by police contradict the conclusion that Kazemi killed McNair and then herself. Keteyian ended his report by noting that it's still an open question whether Kazemi killed McNair: "That's the big question," Keteyian says, "One I'd like to see a lot more answers about."
Perhaps the police can pick up where Keteyian left off.

Motive.....who would benefit the most of the murder of Steve McNair and his 20 year old mistress? It has made me wonder since day one if it was a true crime of passion or a hit considering the places and number of shots inflicted into McNair. Time will tell and oh what a tangled web this has turned out to be.
