Despite facing off against mostly subpar competition, the Redskins have stumbled out of the gate to a 2-4 start and are averaging just 13.3 points per game. It's pretty obvious some changes need to be made. Embattled head coach Jim Zorn changed quarterbacks -- from Jason Campbell to Todd Collins -- during Sunday's loss to the previously-winless Chiefs. That move proved futile, as they still couldn't muster more than six points (they lost 14-6). For his next move, Zorn has, in a way, demoted himself. According to The Washington Post, Zorn will no longer be calling the offensive plays.
More Coverage: Sources Say Shanahan Turned Redskins Down
The move was actually a suggestion from executive vice president Vinny Cerrato, who informed Zorn he thought the coach had "too much on his plate." Zorn didn't argue and gladly stepped down from play-calling duties. The two will reportedly meet again Monday to decide who takes over.
If the Redskins feel he's been there long enough to fully grasp the entire offense, Sherman Lewis would be a good candidate to take over. Lewis was hired on just under two weeks ago as an offensive consultant and he is one of the innovators of the modern "west coast" offense.
Regardless of who takes over, they'll be trying to find a way to move the football with a terrible offensive line and shoddy quarterbacking.
The Redskins square off against the Eagles next Monday night.

How about demoting the whole Washington Redskins oraganization to junior college division? Zorn is not the problem. The owners, the players and everyone involved in that organization it to blame as well, for putting a cheap product on the field.

Worked for the Seahawks agains the Steelers a few years back. Shoddy officiating gave the game to the Steelers.

Though the skins are likely to benefit from a change in play-callers, the problems are much deeper than Zorn. The front office is much too involved. Snyder wants to coach and wants instant gratification. He needs to stay in his luxury box and leave the game to the coaches and players.
Zorn wasn't even able to choose his own off./def. coordinators because they were hired before he was.
Campbell is nothing more than an average QB. They can win with him but they need help on the Offensive Line. Ladell Betts and Rock Cartwright need to be mixed into the game to spell Portis more often. They're both punishing runners and can spark the Offense. The one bright spot on the Offense is Cooley. We need 10 more just like him.
The corners and safeties need remedial instruction in how to tackle & cover. The 'skins need to write this off as a rebuilding year and make the necessary changes. Who knows, if they do it early enough they still might surprise us.

I'm sick of everyone throwing Jim Zorn and Jason Campbell under the bus... like is it Zorn's fault if Offensive linemen miss blocks and constantly allow massive pressure on Campbell not allowing him to plant his feet and make a reasonable throw? Is it Campbell's fault that receivers constantly drop passes either through lack of catching ability or contact after reception??? Is it Jim Zorn's fault that on a 4th and goal..on their 1 he calls a goal line run and sellers misses every block possible while portis falls just short of the endzone? NO honestly the plays Jim Zorn has called have been wide spread in forms of passing and running range and distance its just the lack of execution by players on every play.. It has been providing us with the option to score on big plays but it comes down to extremely poor blocking and horrible route running... either way

This is what Danny needs to do. Fire that dumbass Cerrato who cannot draft a good player for his life other than Orakpo. hire a GM and let HIM pick a new coach. let HIM draft players and make roster changes. We need a whole new team. Everyone but Cooley and Orakpo are worthless. Everyone else is too old or sucks.

Wow what do you all expect from the Redskins? It's typical Washington. Spend a lot of money to accomplish absolutely nothing.
