The Washington Redskins spent Sunday in a
Unfortunately for the Redskins, the good mojo didn't last very long -- Kansas City scored 11 unanswered points for a 14-6 win.
Campbell's been embarrassingly bad most of the season and was pretty awful most of today, going 9 of 16 for 89 yards and one interception. So there's the whole "performance on the field" factor that contributed to Zorn pulling his much-maligned signal-caller.
And there was also the more pressing issue: winning this game. Zorn knows that he's probably not long for DC, regardless of how quickly he can turn the 'Skins around, but giving the Chiefs their first win of the season -- one week after giving the Panthers their first win of the season -- probably put the final stamp on his exit. Using Collins was a last-gasp.
Clinton Portis also sat out early in the second half with an ankle injury, but lobbied Zorn to put him back in the game. Portis then ripped off his longest run as a Redskin, 78 yards, to set up a field goal.
Who knows where the Redskins go from here -- Collins finished 6 of 14 for 75 yards and took a safety, while Campbell wound up 9 of 16 for 89 yards and an interception.
But, hey, on the bright side, if you were a Redskins fan watching this ill-formed excuse of a football game at FedEx, you're at least probably got paid to do so!

Well...For those J.Campbell haters, now that he's been benched...lets see what's going to happen now
that T.Collins is taking the snaps...my bet is it'll be the same results with a different quarterback...I pray that I'm wrong.

I am a steeler fan but I must say as a general football fan,Zorn must go. The Redskins are a storied franchise that has been humiliating the NFL lately. You guys have NO busWiness losing to not 1 but 2 winless teams. That alone means that Zorn deserves a pink slip. You have Santana Moss, Chris Cooley and Clinton Portis and you cant even muster up a damn touchdown. Wow!!! How the once mighty have fallen all the way to rock bottom. Someone please tell Mr. Snyder to hire a real coach to lead the team and not some idiot!! P.S. Be sure to make good use of your top 5 pick in the upcoming draft. A quarterback would be nice.

I have never been down on JC (actually think he has talent; his mobility keeps drives alive, at times) and don't kow if the QB change will make a huge difference. JC gets the bulk of the criticism because he is the QB, the leader, but the problems are not just with JC. In my opinion, the play-calling, lineups (esp. OL; ST), and overall coaching seem to be the major issues.
When your back is against the wall and you have no where to go, you have two options, give up or fight your way back. I hope that this entire team bands together and fights.
Hail to the Redskins!

This team will never find success as long as Snyder and Cerrato are running things. Skins fans deserve better than this.

Im a skins fan to the core and i do agree with the change in QB but its not just JC's fault, Zorn has got to improve the play calling. The plays are incredibly predictable and 1 dimensional. Alas after hard work, ive cracked the scheme, run on 1st and 2nd and throw an inc. on 3rd and get this...punt on 4th. Im sick of seeing dinks and dunks to the sideline that net 5yards at best and we can't forget about the infamous wide receiver screen... If anyone's seen a chargers game lately you know how many injuries they have on the offense, yet they average 30pts a game under Norv. We need to get rid of Vinny Cerrato and slap some sense into Dan Snyder, you have to wonder how good this team would be now if we had kept all the pieces together when Coach Gibbs left (ie. greg william head coach and al saunders Offensive coordinator), then JC would be in the 3rd year of the system and there would be some continuity. Just for the record i think Jim Zorn has the potential to be a great head coach in the NFL, but probably not with the skins and dan snyder...
~~In Norv we trust~~

The biggest of lots of big problems with the Skins is the owner. No "real" coach wants to work for Dan Snyder. That's why we ended up with an unknown QB position coach as our head coach (and Zorn apparently isn't very good at coaching QB's either.) Dan has been more than generous as an owner, he is a real fan of the team, but his heavy hand in past years is going to keep someone like Cower or Shanahan from coming aboard. Ironically, he has been the most hands-off this season when he needed to be his usual over-reacting self. This season is killing me.

It was wrong to bench Campbell in the 2nd half. All year long Campbell and the Skins have played their best football in the second half. Zorn, or whoever ordered Campbell to the sideline is responsible for the loss today. Zorn must go, thats obvious, but Campbell was 5th in the league in completion pct. going into the game. JC can't play O-line and QB. Give him time in the pocket and he can make plays.
