Considering the opposition, the Redskins should be in much better shape right now. They have played four really bad teams and emerged from those games with a 2-2 record -- barely scraping out victories over the still-winless Rams and Buccaneers. Obviously, this is little real reason for optimism. We can probably see through any public talk where someone says something like "things are going to be just fine, we'll get it going." Don't count DeAngelo Hall in the camp willing to do that. He's far from confident, in fact, he doesn't think the woes are the fault of head coach Jim Zorn ... because Zorn hasn't been given a good group of players.
"I think a lot of people made the comment, '[Zorn's] not out there playing in the games.' That's the truth of the matter," Hall said. "If you want to blame someone, look at the film. Look at the guys who are out there trying to play. We haven't been doing a great job, bottom line, we haven't been doing a great job. I think the blame lies with us. I think the blame lies with us. I think we're the ones out there playing every day, practicing, trying to do the right thing, but I don't know if we've got the right personnel here to do it."OK, DeAngelo, why you don't tell us how you really feel? So, the problem ultimately lies with general manager Vinny Cerrato and owner Dan Snyder -- at least that's what it seems like Hall is implying. It's a bit of a gutsy thing to say, considering they could cut him if they want. He wasn't done, though.
Remember, Sunday, I took the Redskins to task for not doing anything much to fix their offensive line in the offseason. Hall seemed to agree when he was asked if the line could handle more injuries.
"Nah, not at all, not at all," he said. "Chris Samuels going down was a devastating loss for us, you know, devastating. We go from having a what, four-, five-, six-time Pro Bowler in there to a guy who hardly has played in this league. Not saying anything to Batiste, he was with me in Atlanta for a little while, but that's a big drop-off, that's a big drop-off. And heading into the offseason and preseason we said we needed to address the offensive line.Hall noted that he wasn't in panic mode just yet, but it was getting close to that point. He basically said this Sunday against Kansas City is a must-win game in order for Washington to salvage their season.
"We felt like we did get better ... but that's a position where you can always get better. You can always have proven guys out there backing other guys up that have played in this league, have had starts in this league. That's something we're lacking."
If things don't get better really soon, there's gonna be a lot more of this in store for us from the DC-area this season. The Redskins play the winless Chiefs this Sunday. If they lose that, it's gonna be an ugly week. Even if they don't, though, the schedule really firms up after that. Check it out: vs. Eagles, at Falcons, vs. Broncos, at Cowboys, at Eagles, vs. Saints, at Raiders, vs. Giants, vs. Cowboys and at San Diego. Simply put, if the Redskins keep playing like they have been, they're looking at a 4-12 season (with wins over K.C. and Oakland). If that comes to fruition, expect heads to roll. Lots of them.

I must be honest. I do not buy any excuses from the players. The sad fact is that the Panthers practically handle them fourteen points and even then The Redskins manage to lose. They blame Snyder but he has brought some of the best coaches (Marty and Joe) that did not work. Then he brought the so called genius from college, that did not work. Then he tried to saved some money because after all he had a guaranteed contract with JC, and as anyone can notice and see Campbell is not a good quaterback no matter what they say. So he hired a coach that could potentially help Campbell. Now they both are taking the whole team down the drain. The redskins are a whole bunch of guys who are being paid millions of dollars by the "BAD OWNER" and the "BAD MANAGER" who picked the whole bunch of lazy players that believe they have more talent than they actually have.

I wouldn't say that Marty or Joe were failures here. Marty went 8-8 during a season where he purged the team of the likes of Deion, Bruce Smith, etc in an effort to get younger. He didn't get a chance to build on that because Dan want Vinny back. Joe got us to the playoffs with 1 playoff win over TB. Now we are looking at a 4-12 season just 2 years removed. Perfect time to purge the roster of our aging, underacheiving vets and start a youth movement.

Its simple redskins have a GREAT defense and probably the worst offense in the NFL.....FOOTBALL is won by your offensive linemen!!!! Simple and plain the most important position in offensive football is your offensive line followed by your QB
Vinny and Snyder have been here for 10 years and the only offensive line draft picks they have drafted are chris samuels derrick dockery and chad rinehart????!!!! That is UNCALLEDDDDDDDDDD for and then on top of that they sign undrafted free agents from proably the WORST D1 BCS football program in the country Maryland!!!!! Do not sign undrafted free agents to play offensive lineman....DRAFT Lineman to play offensive lineman draft a QB and THEN find pieces to complement your new STOUT offensive line and young QB.
I dont even know how Vinny still has a JOB he is not respected by ANYONE in the league... Danny boy needs to HIRE a GM and stay out of the teams business If we lose to the chiefs im DONE I wont root for the redskins no more until vinny is gone.

It certainly sounds like D Hall wants to play for a winning team for a change.
What he probably doesn't realize is that winning teams dont take chances on players like him. That's what makes them "winning".

The Redskins have the same problem they've had for a couple years--they need a good Quarterback because Campbell stinks. They should start Brennan it would be an improvement.

Too bad he is on IR. Sadly, Campbell is our best chance to win right now. It starts at the top. That is what D Hall is trying to say without saying it.

People are so quick to blame JC. Ill agree he could be playing better, but it could be worse. He is not the main problem on the redskins. No QB in the league can do a good job behind our OL. JC alot of the times doesnt even get to finish his 5 step drop or 7 step and hes got not one guy but 2 or 3 guys around him. The 3 receiver picks they made last year cant get open, moss is being double covered cooley is the main constant but he has to block alot now because he blocks almost if not better then our OL. Our 2 best blockers now without samuels is portis and cooley and thats sad. I do believe JC has got better when hes had the time plays good but no one can play good with about 2 seconds to go thru all your reads. The worst part is there not even really getting blitzed all that much.
I like JC. I think with the right OL and the right play calls he might not be top 5 QB but for sure play good enough to get us to the playoffs and win some games.
One last note, its pretty sad that I can sit at home or at the stadium and watch the game and I know what the play call is like i got a headset on, thats just a joke. If they get a new coach I hope its Shannahan or Cowher, but the only way that happens is if they get the GM power which Danny's Boy Vinny is the example of how not to a GM in football.

Top to bottom front to back they are pathetic. Snyder Deep pockets, pisses away money on dumb ass signings. Zorn, are you kidding me? Campbell, you are out of your frigin' mind if you the he's the guy. Deadskins one of the bottom five teams in the NFL, and will be for some time to come. their fans deserve better. GO PATS!

I have nothing against Vinny as a person, but he is with out ANY DOUBT the common denominator over the last ten years. Not drafting lineman, his choice, not adding youth, his choice, not having talented backup in practically every position across the board, his choice. If they are to have ANY future they need someone who can evaluate talent. and even then they wont be competitive for a few years.

If it were up to me, I would do like Joe Gibbs and that regime did back in the 80's when the Redskins were a dominate team. Don't waste the money paying rookies who haven't proven they can consisting play at the pro level...go out and pay those proven 7-8 year veterans more money then they're currently making to come and play for the Redskins and start with the offensive line...for those Redskins fans who remember back before they were called..."The Hogs"...they were referred to as..."The Over The Hill Gang"...the Offensive Line consisted of all proven veterans that were considered to be on the back end of their careers...they made Joe Theismann look like a star and when The Skins needed a running back...they looked to veterans like John Riggins from The Jets, Goerge Rogers from The Saints, Gerald Riggs from Atlanta, John Settles from Atlanta, Earnest Byner from Cleveland...all proven veteran running backs, why can't they use that same concepts again to solidify a much needed offensive line...
