Prior to Sunday's Ravens-Bengals game, Cincinnati wide receiver Chad Ochocinco posted a link on Twitter to a video of Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis drilling him in a 2007 game, and he vowed that Lewis wouldn't be able to knock him down again. As it turned out, it did happen again: Lewis nailed Ochocinco during the game, drawing a 15-yard personal foul penalty. But Ochocinco went back to Twitter to ask NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell not to fine Lewis for the hit.
Immediately following the game, Ochocinco tweeted:
Beautify game, Ray knock my head off, all part of the game, I love my big brother Ray Lewis, hope you all enjoyed thee event !!!!!
And then a couple hours later, Ochocinco posted another tweet, directing it to Goodell's Twitter account:
@nflcommish please don't fine Ray Lewis Mr. Roger Goodell, it was a clean hit, it's part of the game, save the fines for me, Esteban out.Although I respect Ochocinco for not wanting to see his friend get fined, I don't think Goodell is going to listen to him. The rules are clear: Helmet-to-helmet hits on defenseless receivers are not tolerated in the NFL, and Lewis is going to get fined.

Being a steeler fan, I have to admire Chad's attitude, but receivers still have to be protected from intentional helmet ramming tackles. All players must have that protection. The point of the game is to play hard without hurting anyone.

How do you not like Ochocinco at this point.
Although, that was pretty clearly a dirty hit. Really funny to watch his helmet fly like 15 yards.

Listen peoples turn back the clock to last years superbowl and then talk to me about helmet to helmet..I totaly agree with you dude..If they cant take a hit go do some knittingor something like that..Chad opened his mouth (AS USUAL) stating that he wouldnt do it again and guess what he got proved wrong and Ray Lewis proved something else and did it..Nice to see that Ochocinco has something nice to say out another person other than blaming everybody else instead of himself How long would he last in days gone by in the game..Regards Steve Dublin Ireland

In theory what you say is correct BUT in reality not an ounce of truth..Can you name me one player other than QBs that dont hit to hurt..If the chance comes up they hit and hit hard and if a player goes down becuase of a hit the offending player gets u[p and walks away , you dont see them hanging around saying sorry do ya..Its a hard game for hard men that given the chance HIT HARD..And thats the reality..Regards

That wasn't helmet to helmet, it was shoulder to helmet and a clean hit. Go get 'em Ray.

They changed the rule. You can't plow someone in the head with a shoulder either. It's a crappy rule, but it's the rule.

WOW! I would fine him big time. That type of hit was meant to destroy, maim, or kill his opponent.
