Dallas Cowboys left tackle Flozell Adams has been fined $12,500 for his trip on the Giants' Justin Tuck Sunday night, according to the Dallas Morning News. The play occurred late in the first half of New York's win over Dallas -- Tuck blew past Adams en route to quarterback Tony Romo, but Adams stuck his leg out and upended Tuck, who fell hard to the turf.Tuck spent the rest of the game with his left arm in a sling and reportedly suffered a partially torn labrum on the play, according to Newsday.
This is the second time in two weeks that Adams has felt the NFL's wrath -- he earned a $5,000 fine following Week 1 for an unnecessary roughness penalty against Tampa Bay.
Tuck, meanwhile, could miss up two weeks, though he hasn't ruled out playing this coming Sunday when the Giants head to Tampa.
"It's going to be day-to-day and hopefully by the end of the week there will be some progress," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said at his Wednesday press conference. "It's a matter of soreness and strength, soreness and strength. Who knows? Maybe he'll end up having to wear a harness. That's not a problem. We have a couple of guys doing that."
Tuck called Adams' play "bush league" after the game, though Adams maintained that he didn't remember tripping Tuck.

The fine makes no sense. What the fine should be is that the player is kept from playing for as long as the player who he hurt can not play because of the injury.

Here is a guy that is voted to the Pro Bowl Yr after yr and he lowers himself to do this and intentionaly cause injury to someone else. First of all he is NOT pro bowl material ANY MORE. Maybe 5 yrs ago. I guess he is just a product of his enviorment. When you lose the BIG games that often, you restort to stupid things...Classless act on a LOW CLASS team

I agree with this idea. If the #92 lineman from Carolina would be forced to sit as long as Donavan McNabb has to sit I would feel justice was done. Regardless what he says and what the team says, he hit McNabb deliberately with his left knee when McNabb was down. Just watch the replays. The league said there was no penalty. If they continue to turn there eyes from tyhis kind of thing it will go on and careers might possibly end.

I've always thought that a flagrant personal foul should not only be a fine but also the player should sit out as long as the aggrieved has to sit!

I think he should be suspended for a game and fined a games pay. That was an intentional tripping, for that reason it should be atleast a game.

He clearly got beat on the play but it was an instinctual move to protect his quarterback. Didn't deserve a fine in my opinion. I have seen worse that didn't result in a fine. Now Damione Lewis of the Carolina Panthers should have been fined and/or suspended for hitting McNabb late which resulted in a fractured rib but nobody is talking about that and I am not even an Eagles fan.

It was bush league and Adams is a thug. These guys should be run out of the league. I don't mind hard hits, even illegal hard hits, but cowardly cheap shots is another matter.

Are you idiots for real! I am a Cowboy fan and I expected Adams to be fined only because Tuck hurt himself falling down. I have seen other players actually trip others and only flagged. To call a person a THUG just because you hate the Cowboys is moronic. To all you Giant fans up in arms. Why are y'll not crying over YOUR wide receiver (#80) not being FINED for a leg whip on a DB when he tried tripping a Cowboy with 3 minutes left in the game? Why are you people not calling him a THUG? Ohhhhh, that's right he is a NEW YORK Giant, not a Cowboy. The Cowboy defender did not hurt himself when he fell down soooooooo all is OK, huhhhhhhh??

Another irony is that the NY Giants were charged with a "time out" for that injury, that was clearly caused by a personal foul! That is another thing that has to change.

Are you people for real. Go back and watch the last 4 minutes of the game and you will see 2 Giants get flagged on a play. One of the penalties was a leg whip on #80 of the Giants in which he caused a Cowboy player to fall but the Cowboy player was not hurt. Why are y'll not screaming about that tripping. Ohhhhh that's right, he is a New York Giant!

ummm hello...that play was replayed a million times now and it was an obvious trip...so yes he does deserve to get fined...i dislike teams that cheat to win...and for your information cowboys fans...your team is one of the most infamous for illegal plays...the giants are one of the most fair playing teams in the league so before you talk a bunch of s*** about the giants why dont you get you facts straight...watch them play against someone that isnt your beloved cowboys and i think you would be singing a different tune...its easy to point the finger at the team that beat the dirty a** cowboys...go GIANTS!!!! And i bet this year your cowboys dont even make it to the playoffs but be sure that my giants will...just remember your pissed and pointing the blame at the team that beat your teams a**

The Giants beat the Cowbolys butts. It looked to me like the Dallas players were not in shape, they were lying on the ground with cramps and blowing so hard during a play that they didn't need the ventilation fans on in the stadium. I still laugh when I see the score.
