The Oakland Raiders fought tooth and nail for a victory Sunday afternoon in Kansas City. Afterward, offensive guard Robert Gallery provided a black cloud on an otherwise sunny Raider day. The 29-year-old guard told a throng of reporters in the locker room that he suffered a broken left fibula during the game. Gallery is part of a solid run-blocking offensive line and he's the team's best pulling guard. Losing him for any length of time is a big blow for the team, and this injury figures to be a while. The fibula is the smaller bone in the lower leg (tibia is the big one, also known as the shin).
Without Gallery, the Raiders won't be able to swing Darren McFadden to the outside as effectively. Gallery made a few solid downfield blocks Sunday against the Chiefs, and that was a normal occurrence. Without Gallery, the smart money is on Michael Bush getting more of the carries, as he's the between-the-tackles guy for Oakland.
Paul McQuistan will likely take over for Gallery at guard with him sidelined.
The Raiders defeated Kansas City 13-10 Sunday on a late McFadden touchdown. They will face the Denver Broncos next week at home.
Fantasy Football Spin:
McFadden got the late touchdown, but this injury bodes well for Bush to end up being the more valuable fantasy back the rest of the way. Before doing anything rash and trading McFadden, though, let's see how the Raiders fare in Week 3 with their new-look offensive line. Be cautious without being too knee-jerk.

Are we talking about that 6' 8" tight-end who is the ineligible receiver down field all the time. I think the refs have gotten tired of calling it on him as well; Mr Shoulder Pads

The Raiders WON ... Should be 2-0 but such is life. The so called experts were picking the Chief's at home ... but besides Russell being totally incompetent at hitting an open receiver the Raiders pulled it out and Rivers got beat at home and the Chargers should be 0-2! Bronco's in first place??? Not for long!

Make sure you check out the Tennesse vs. Houston highlights of the game. Houston has same dropped ball in the end zone, but guess what, touchdown for Houston (ruled he was down prior to fumbling the ball in the end zone)..what a joke, tuck rule all over again!!!
