Ochocinco Wants to Try Lambeau Leap

The Cincinnati Bengals have not played a regular season game at Lambeau Field since 1995. That means wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has never had an opportunity to play a game that counts in Green Bay.

It all changes Sunday, when Ochocinco's Bengals visit the Packers. In advance of that game, Ochocinco took part in a teleconference with Green Bay reporters. The results were predictable, as hilarity ensued.

As noted by the Green Bay Press Gazette, Ochocinco seems to have some interest in trying out a longtime Packer tradition if he finds the end zone.

Ochocinco: "I'm just really focused on going out there and having some fun, and looking to be embraced by the Packers fans, and hopefully I can Lambeau Leap."

Q: Would you really do that?

"Yeah, it's no disrespect, especially coming from me, you know how I am. I just go out there and have fun. I enjoy the Dog Pound (in Cleveland) when I jump in there. They embrace me. I'm looking for the Cheeseheads to embrace Ocho also."

This isn't a Bear or Viking threatening to do the Lambeau Leap. It's a Bengal. While Ochocinco has never really done anything malicious on the field to earn the rep of being a dirty player, he's a controversial player nonetheless because of his willingness to say just about anything for attention.

How would he be received in the stands?

"I'm not sure. If they're to accept one individual out of all the NFL teams to embrace if he got in the stands, I think I should be that one. I'm no harm. It's all fun. It's all entertainment, and it's really a challenge for myself and for that defense and that secondary to stop me from doing what I'm coming in there to do, and that's to do everything I can to get us a 'W'."

Just because of the curiosity factor, here's hoping Ochocinco finds the end zone Sunday.

Ochocinco wasn't done. His next target was Packers linebacker -- and fellow Twitter user -- Nick Barnett.

Ochocinco: "Tell Nick Barnett, I'm coming for his head. I want you all to give him that message."

Q: Can't you just Tweet him that yourself?

Ochocinco: "I don't want to Tweet that, I want you to tell him. And let the Packer Nation know that we're coming to town, and I'm looking forward to entertaining and bringing a little fun to the city and with no disrespect."

Finally, Ochocinco closed out his remarks with a blessing. Yes, a blessing.

Q: What will be like to face Al Harris and Charles Woodson?

Ochocinco: "It doesn't matter who I see, they all will get the same treatment, which is a blessing. That's the reason games are played on Sunday. You know, they miss church, so I will gladly bless them throughout the entire four quarters."

I wonder if, by "bless," Ochocinco actually meant "burn."

Just another day in the life of Chad Ochocinco.

If Ochocinco plays like he did for most of Sunday's game against Denver, there's a chance he'll fade into obscurity, no matter what he says. However, he really turned it on late, and the Packers will have to keep a close eye on him Sunday.

If the Bengals get into the end zone and it happens to be the lunatic #85, let him jump into the stands and move away letting him enjoy his self-deprevation alone.

For egocentric types like him give him the "Cheeshead Snub". Anyone this obnoxious and self-centered, show him he's not one of the Pack.

i think chad JOHNSON should get a life. first of all his name isn't even right in spanish. ocho cinco literally means eight five, not eighty five. dumb ass. second of all, he has to get past gbs secondary, but ask jay cutler how hard that is. i respect that hes tryin to have fun but have fun on your own field where theres less of a chance of you getting ripped a new ass by fans. once this "man" starts putting up numbers and his team starts putting up w's, then he can talk and be the chad johnson we know him to be. he needs to worry less about a lambeau leap and more about helping out his piss poor team win a game or two

It's so refreshing to see an athlete who actually has fun playing the game and doesn't treat it like a business. I follow him on twitter and he was nothing but respectful to Lambeau and the packers. They just chose SOME of the tweets out of context

*Having fun and being silly are great, as long as they're in the proper perspective--concentrate on being the best FOOTBALL PLAYER you can be first, and if it fits in, you can have a little fun. Unfortunately, all Chad seems to think about is the fun part, always planning the party, without dedicating himself to the game FIRST. He's so in love with himself, and thinks everyone else is, too, that he keeps forgetting his fans still want to see some incredible football playing as part of the package.

As a citizen of Cincinnati I hope that the Packers simply kill the Bengals and embarrass them. I am so sick of our Idiot owner and his ignorant family, heres hoping that the Bengals don't win a game for the rest of Mike Browns life. The only way Cincinnati will ever have winning Football is for the entire Brown family to perish in a firey plane crash.
