Tom Brady led the New England Patriots to a come-from-behind win against the Buffalo Bills in his first game in more than a year on Monday Night Football, so it was obvious that Suzy Kolber would want to interview Brady afterward. But Brady wouldn't cooperate. When ESPN cut to Kolber after the game, Brady was exchanging post-game handshakes. Kolber put her hand on Brady's arm and made clear that she wanted to interview him, but Brady just ignored her, and then said, "I'm going in," and started to jog to the locker room.
At that point Kolber started to jog alongside him and continue to question Brady, who said twice that he couldn't hear her. Brady never did stop to talk to her, but he did slow down from a jog to a walk long enough to say of the game, "It's not how we drew it up, but I'll take it. We did a lot of things poorly, but I'm glad we got the win."
And with that quote, the interview was over. I realize that NFL players often view interviews as an annoyance, but ESPN pays the NFL billions of dollars, and that's the reason the Patriots pay Brady tens of millions of dollars, and so Brady ought to just suck it up and give Kolber 15 seconds of his undivided attention when she asks for it. At the end of a great game featuring a great Brady comeback, Brady acted like a jerk.
What did you think of how Brady acted? Tell me on Twitter @MichaelDavSmith.

I think it should be the athlete's choice to speak or not to speak after a game(its not like the network doesn;t have anything else to talk about). I appreciate the reporter has a job to do, but running after him just looked foolish. Certainly think she could have handled his clear intention to head into the locker room with much more effectively.

This is not a story. He wanted to go celebrate with his team. I don't think he should be considered a jerk. Next time write a story, not an editorial defending fellow journalists.

I don't understand why reporters interview players to begin with. What could Brady or any other player have to say that anybody could possibly be interested in listening to?

If Tom Brady were hurting after the game and had to go ice his knee (which he HAD to be the way he was favoring it early on), or was exhausted for having this be his first real game in a full season, or if they had been instructed in the locker room at halftime to give the press little to no action after the game (who else was interviewed on the field?), then I consider it big of Brady to give her his three seconds. He tried to listen to what she was saying but she sounded like a spastic chihuahua after tugging on his arm and running after him that it was no wonder he couldn't understand her. Honestly she looked like the bigger jerk trying to tackle him running back to the locker room, like that 15 seconds was going to make or break the rest of her career.

Brady is not a jerk. The media is foolish to think that desire the right to stick a microphone into someones face. I am sure Brady donates more money to charities than some guy that has to use 3 names just so people know who he is.

Is this a joke? Seriously you couldn't find something better to write about...........like the grass growing. Brady pulls off a nice win and wants to go celebrate after missing a year. Get over it.

I'm laughing that someone referred to the guy writing this as a journalist! Please...! Writing a blog is like rapping -- anyone can do it.

I'm not a Patriots fan at all, in fact I hate them, but that was a great win for New England. And to be honest, when I saw this interview I thought it was funny as hell.

Brady was at work. He wasn't being bothered in his personal life. He could have stopped, made a couple generic comments, and been on his way. Instead, he did the prick thing. No sweat.
But, what's with all of the comments on this site constantly complaining about the writer of the blog? Why waste your time with a site that so, obviously, annoys you?

Did you watch the video?? He was obviously in the middle of something (congratulating fellow players) when he was very rudely interrupted by that so called reporter. And he did say a few generic words to her so what is your problem, other than jealousy? He was celebrating a win and trying to enjoy it....the reporter could have waited until he at least had showered and taken it all in.

He is paid to win football games not give interviews. The reporters should be lucky when they do spend time with them and he gave her some sound bites as he walked. Get real.

He had a little anger and was not happy
apparently....they just won the game and
so why wasn't he in a better mood?......
answer to that is because of the way they
won...Brady and company looked bad....the
BILLS really should have won...if not for
a costly mistake by their player they would
have won...and to boot it all the player
said he would do the same thing again.....
talk about arrogance and stupidity....he cost
his team a huge win....Patriots are not #1
after that showing......Brady is worried....

Tom Brady was extremely rude. He needs to look up the word "humble" in the dictionary and be greatful for all of his good fortune.

If she wanted to ask him a question she could have gone to the post game interview all teams hold after the players have showered and dressed. Brady is always there to take questions. He just played a rough game and needed to sit down for a minute. These journalists don't even belong on the sideline. The reason ESPN has these women on each sideline is for sex appeal not journalism.

He was totally P--sed about the way his team won only because he didn't feel that everone did their job,....including himself. I'm sure everone of us has at one time or another had a situation that you didn't succede the way you wanted or things didn't go the way you planned. You become angry with youself and only want to vent frustration. So by avoiding an interview he probably was saving face for possibly saying something that he would only regret later.
Remember! We are all human! No exceptions!

of course interviews come with the territory...but possibly not right after the game when he is walking off the field shaking hands with players making his way to the locker room..hmm...
