Things got a little awkward for Eric Mangini this afternoon: Just hours after stating that he was simply not going to tell the world who his starting quarterback would be for Sunday's game, it has been reported via numerous media outlets (as well as Terrell Owens' Twitter -- the latter being the end-all-be-all of NFL reporting, naturally) that Brady Quinn is the starting quarterback for the Browns opener.Yes, that's right: Quinn's starting. So not only do Derek Anderson's parents need to put away the party supplies, but Cleveland fans around the

Frankly, it should be: Anderson's success in the past created a highly undesirable (albeit not particularly shocking) situation whereby the Browns had an overpaid veteran and a homegrown youngster that they traded up to draft. And while Anderson may have made Romeo Crennel look good with one solid year of QB'ing, Mangini owes neither player a minute of playing time based on anything other than making sure the starter plays well enough to help him keep his job.
He obviously thinks that player -- in terms of both now and the future -- is Quinn and he's rolling with it. I'm still not sure why he tried to hide that fact, though.

What secret? It shows just how bad PD reporter Mary Cabot is when she thinks that her article that Brady Quinn is the starting QB is a story. Any fan with common sense figured out pretty early on that it was Quinn from day 1 of camp. 1. you don't trade up into the first round select a QB and never see him play. 2. Whether people like it or not, Derek Anderson has shown why he is a career backup in the NFL... he continues to make the same errant throws day after day, month after month, year after year.... which means he isn't growing into the role of a starting QB. 3. Quite frankly, Derek Andersons passer rating of 54% is troubling and shouldve told any fan that the page would turn to Brady Quinn. And for anyone talking about a defense not being up to snuff.... who can honestly determine that..... Shaun Rogers and David Bowens didnt play in the preseason..... do you think you really show what Cribbs is gonna do? Give me a break.... but what does concern me is the press conferences of the coach, the QBS, and Jamal today... they all had the theme Minnosota was great and we are facing an uphill battle....The Coach spent way to much time admiring Brette Favre, and QBS talked up the Minnesota def and offensive lines..... Derek seemed to take a shot at our offensive line when he said it helps to have a great line? I read that as our line play sucks.....none of them showed any confidence in winning..... based on their conversations..... I think we will get buried..... very disappointed that Eric Mangini idolizes the opponent and didn't talk about his team or Cleveland fans opener...... terrible press conference...... seemed like Eric was gonna pull up on the hero that he named his kid after, and give him a win...... he sounded like Romeo today.... and that is very bad for Cleveland..... so now we truly no that Eric is ready to go 4-12 and just doesn't really give a damn or else he wouldn't have spent 75 percent of his press conf glorifying Brette Favre...... Hey Eric you sound like you'd rather be coaching Brette your hero then the Cleveland Browns..... and thats the message your players got today too.

Right on Terry.
Both the first respondent and the author of the article are idiots. The author audaciously slams Ohio by crossing out world. Blow me you jerkoff. The first respondent suffers from bipolar disorder and hence rambles on and on without any conclusive thinking.
Thanks for straightening them out Terry.

This is why it's more unpleasant than it has to be to read the AOL sports threads: issuernet -- "Blow me you jerkoff."
What does this have to do with Quinn vs. Anderson? What does this contribute to the debate (now settled)? And what is this supposed to do for, say, kids who follow pro football on AOL?
Not to mention, what does this say about the not-so-hidden sexual problems of issuernet?
