So, how is that boycott the NFL because of Michael Vick movement going? How about the sentiment that everyone hates Brett Favre? When taking a look at the highest selling jerseys in the NFL at present, we stumble upon a more apt word in describing the two: Polarizing. Sure, there are plenty of people who loathe both players, but there are plenty on the other side of the fence. The numbers don't lie. Darren Rovell of CNBC.com has published a list of the top-20 selling jerseys at NFLShop.com from April 1 to August 28. Favre's Vikings jersey is the top seller, and Vick's Eagles top checks in at number four.
So, yeah, these guys also have plenty of support in addition to all the intense hatred ... unless people are buying these up to burn them?
Also of note on the list:
- Jay Cutler is No. 2, which isn't surprising at all considering the treatment he's received in Bears-crazy Chicago since the April 2nd trade.
- Michael Crabtree, the only remaining first round pick who still hasn't signed a contract, is No. 20. You wouldn't think people would be wasting money on him until he signed, but the holdout is hurting him. According to Rovell, Crabtree was eighth earlier in August.
- The only rookie listed is Mark Sanchez, the first-round pick of the New York Jets.
- The only defensive player on the list is Troy Polamalu of the defending Super Bowl Champion Steelers.
- There are 12 quarterbacks on the list, making it easily the top-selling position.
- There are three Steelers on the list (Polamalu, Ben Roethlisberger and Hines Ward), making them the top-selling team. The Cowboys and Vikings each have two players, and no one else has more than one.
Here is the full list:
1. Favre
2. Cutler
3. Polamalu
4. Vick
5. Roethlisberger
6. Tony Romo
7. Sanchez
8. Tom Brady
9. Adrian Peterson
10. Eli Manning
11. Terrell Owens
12. Peyton Manning
13. Ward
14. LaDainian Tomlinson
15. Jason Witten
16. Larry Fitzgerald
17. Joe Flacco
18. Matt Ryan
19. Aaron Rodgers
20. Crabtree

Its funny how the peta freaks gave up after they realized people felt Vick paid his debt to society. He was cheered for more than any other player that game. A big LOL @ all of you !!!
The over dramatic Peta reactions to everything has really tarnished your organization and made it into a joke. Whats next protect the fruit flies?
p.s. great protest at citizens bank park. You really changed the public's opinion.

If Hitler was able to play football and the Eagles signed him then he would be cheered by low trate Eagles fans aswell.
As far as jersey sales goes it is the new hot thing to have a Vick Jersey much like Owens when he went to the Eagles or Cowboys and Favre when he went to the Jets and now Vikings.
Paying your debt to society doesn't give you the right to go back to your old profession. If a lawyer or a Doctor commits a felony then they will lose their license and never be able to practice their profession again, Why should Vick be any different. I am not saying he can't go make a living because he can but not in the NFL. The NFL has dropped the ball and the low class Eagles owner has picked it up and ran with it.

So you think that Vick is the worst person in the NFL, well then you and every other person that thinks that needs to grow a brain. How can you compare Hitler (killed people) to Vick (killed dogs). If you are going to make a better comparison try Donte Stallworth who actually killed a man then paid it off and only served 23 days in jail!

What a stupid comment by PSU! What makes the NFL so different from any other profession to think that you should not be able to back to work in the league because of a past felony??? The NFL over the years is full of convicted felons just like 99.9% of all other professions. Vick paid the price that the legal system required. If he still has the talent, then let him go to work.....

I have made mistakes, but I have never commited a felony.
I have no problem with Vick earning a living it should not be in the NFL. I honestly think that Felony + Jail = lifetime ban and that goes for any player maybe we will get rid of the thug gangster attitude that is practiced by a small percentage of players in the NFL once and for all.
Vick has a college education and it is time for him to go out in the real world and apply it to an income for himself.

I guess you don't live in the state of VA, felonies are committed here by normal citizens everyday. Fellatio is a felony here. are you sure your not a felon who hasn't been caught?

Sometimes, the law is an ass and the DA reacted because of Vick's celeb status and pressure from PETA, who I agree must concentrate their efforts on more worthy causes.
So let me understand this of the haters: It's okay for people like Sarah Palin to shoot innocent wolves with a high scope rifle from a helicopter, yet it's a felony for Vick to shoulder the blame because his friends resorted to killing dogs?

you are an idiot and if Vick went to the Giants would you feel the same about him and the answer to that is no.
Is it my fault that Vick commited a crime with the premeditated setup of a illegal organized gambling that resulted in the brutal treatment of animals. He watched and laughed as dogs yelped from the pain of being executed by the use of electricity. He watched as warm up dogs that were sometimes stolen from their loving homes be rendered defensless by pulling their teeth. By all means let him play football he sounds like a really nice guy.
Also I cant help the fact that Vick decided to go after the money and left school early and then blew it and lost it all when he went against decent society. So I guess the lottery winners that end up broke a few years after they win Millions should be given more millions in hopes that they learned their lessons.
Another little fact is the Stallworth is suspended from the NFL indefinatly and will have his case revisited after the season. His act was also not premeditated like Vicks was. And yes I think he should not be given a second chance either, commit a felony and recieve a lifetime ban
that should be the rule!!!!!!!
Vick is scum and does not deserve a second chance.
Go work in Burger King Felon!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, rant against and about Vick all day long but be sure you don't say anything or very little about the people who are making money off of Vick. Like the owners who signed him. Where is that criticism? Isn't it interesting that all these commentators had a lot of negative comments about Vick and absolutely nothing negative about those who hired and profit from Vick's football skills. Nothing!! What's up with that?

Let the Eagles have him. They will end up worse than they did last year no question about it. A coach trying to run a scheme offense with trick plays will find hisself in the umemployment line. It is not going to work. Look for Vick to be on the bench by midseason and/or the coach out of a job.

Of course brain dead Eagle fans would cheer Hitler if they thought he could win some games. Just wait until Vick starts losing some games and these fair weather Philly fans will start booing like craze. Hekc in the past they even booed Santa Claus.
