Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco loves using Twitter, so much that he wants to use it during his games. The NFL doesn't allow cellular devices on the field, so I've wondered how he was going to be able to get his tweet on without getting fined. I suggested getting a close friend to help him from the stands.Ochocinco has gone one step beyond that. He's having a contest on Twitter each week to fly a fan to a Bengals game to be his guest tweeter.
If you are very patient, (lots of deadtime at the beginning of video) you can hear his offer around the 7:45 mark, via Mashable:
Giving the keys to your Twitter account to a contest winning fan is a whole lot of trust, but perhaps it is worthwhile in promoting Brand Ochocinco. This season he will have the pressure for his onfield performance to match his online exposure. If he can't find the endzone, how is he going to get good tweets?
In the video, he also says that in the Bengals' matchup against the Rams, he is going to be playing some quarterback. He's already played kicker this preseason, so quarterback isn't much of a stretch. I guess opposing teams need to follow Ochocinco's social media stylings to know what to expect, unless that is a smokescreen.

I guess he thinks he's above focusing on the game. Another stupid, full of himself, overpaid athlete.
or an entertaining athlete trying to reach further out to his fans i guess its up to you as an individual to decide... I think its funny and cool that he takes all this time out to address the fans even though it may just be for his ego this is still time that he's using and not getting paid for
Not sure if your employer would like you to tweet while you are supposed to be working. He can tweet before and after the game.
lol thats an interesting comment though because a lot of people do tweet while at work but this is entertainment so its different anyway
What else is he going to be doing during games? Its not like he catches TD's. How many times did he get knocked out last year? Chad Johnson please go away, you are irrelevent. You stole your whole act from T.O.
*No wonder his game has been going downhill--his priorities are all screwed up. Football as a sport is obviously entertainment, but the participants aren't giving it their best if their minds are constantly wandering. If he wants to serve his fans, he should be concentrating on doing his job to the best of his abilities, and that simply is not possible if he's always thinking about how he's going to interact with his fans. Instead of serving them, he's really letting them down.

Chad is an idiot. And I was really trying to get to the bigger idiot that wrote the original article to ask them to stop giving this stupid child any attention. I can't stand that idiot Chad. He sucks and he thinks he'll actually end up in the HOF. Give me a break. Try catching a TD or 2 in a given year first. Got tweet that, douche.
He's a classless punk. Him and T.O. are what is wrong with Football. It's not cute, its not funny. What they do is try to take away from the game. If they want to be entertainers join a TV show. if they want to play football, they need to get their heads in the game.
What happen to good old football. Why do we even support these idiots anymore. GO COLLEGE FOOTBALL.
I am not a fan, and never have been, of the Bengals, and I totally disagree with Mr. Ochostinco tweeting during the game. Mr. Ochostinco, concentrate on the game, and not your conversations on Twitter. That is a distraction. This is just like carrying on a non-work related conversation over the phone with someone while you're at work, and not concentrating what you can do for the 'team'. Your conversations should be with your team mates, and coaching staff. I agree that he can tweet before(but not when he's in a team meeting before the game) and after the game, but no using any electronic entertainment device(including a cell phone I saw a player use, I think I recall seeing, or was that a fan's cell phone that a player(Chad?)grabbed?)). I'm a little fuzzy on the details of that. If any player gets caught with one of those on the sideline, have a league mandate that at least the team fine him. There doesn't need to be any clowns on the sideline. They belong with Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus.
