Brett Favre just won't go away. Or maybe the media won't let him go away. There's an FOXSports.com report that says several Vikings players believe Favre will return for the 2009 season. That's news to Favre's agent, Bus Cook, who told FanHouse his client is retired.
Yet, it's never easy with Favre.
"Don't know," Cook said Monday morning about the report. "I wouldn't put it past Brett, but he's retired. Brett is working out, but hell, I'm 61, I need to work out too."
Cook said Favre works out most days to stay in shape and is feeling pretty good.
"Just because you're working out, doesn't mean you're coming back to play football," Cook said. "I have no idea where this is coming from. He's retired. All I know is Brett went to Hattiesburg, Miss., and is working with the high school kids."
Tarvaris Jackson, the other man in this quarterback derby, went 7-for-15 for 39 yards on five possessions. Childress said both quarterbacks did some good things. Neither, however, threw a touchdown.
"The numbers are what they are," Childress told the Associated Press.
Jackson starts against the Chiefs on Friday.

What's your point? Football has been part of his life for, well, probably since he was old enough to throw a ball. It's hard to walk away from something like that. I don't blame him for being indecisive. I don't see why you're so damned upset since it doesn't affect you in the least.

As a FORMER Brett fan I can honestly say this is such a non-issue anymore. I quit watching NFL a few years ago because it seems there is no team loyality anymore. Players seem to go where ever the $$$ is. What happened to players that played their entire career for one team? I couldn't keep up with all the trades.

If you don't watch the NFL then why are you even reading this article. Don't even try and say stupid like because you just want to see how crazy Favre is.
Team loyalty? It goes both ways. I think you're forgeting that. Teams will cut players in an instant. Why should players be loyal? Teams aren't loyal.
Favre was loyal anyway, he wanted to stay in GB. They wanted Rogers to be their starter, remember?
Let him do whatever he wants, it's his decision to make. As long as a team is willing to sign him, what can we really say about it......

I think that GB has been more than loyal to Favre over the years... including the last few years when he was waffling over whether or not to return for another year. No one twisted his arm to announce his retirement from GB in a nationally televised conference and GB had not named Rogers as the new starting QB after he did so. The chronological events of what actually happened were lost a long time ago with the media's over-sensationalized coverage of Favre's on-again, off-again retirements. Many people don't know (or have forgotten) that when Favre first decided that he really didn't want to retire, he was still in contact with GB. GB wasn't necessarily opposed to his return, they were simply being cautious and wanted confirmation that he truly was committed to come back and play. Apparently, he must have convinced him that he was because Thompson and McCarthy were scheduled to fly down to MS in mid-June to finalize the paperwork to bring him back. 2 days before they were to go down there, Favre told them that he had talked it over with his family and had decided to stay retired. It wasn't until after this that GB moved forward and named Rogers as the starter. Then Favre changed his mind again... and you know the rest of the story. GB has a team to run and prepare for an upcoming season. I don't blame them at all for putting an end to allowing Favre to hold them hostage while he waffles. They went through enough years of that.

I used to be a huge Brett Favre Fan. I believed and still do that he was one of the all time greats. However, after he pulled his last minute stunt of wanting to come out of retirement, after GB had already gone with another QB....his ego got the better of him and he signed with another team. Then the nasty remarks started flying, and I lost all respect for him. Stay Home Favre. You're old news. Frankly, you have gotten to be a big bore. You went out on top....you should have stayed there.

If Brett Favre goes to the Vikings, I will be a Vikings fan this year. At his age he is still better than half the starters in the NFL. With the right team like the Vikings, he will have a great year and they will have a great year. And yes, they will beat the Packers!!!!!

I agree that Green Bay will suck this year, but I think it's hilarious that the article's author thinks it's inevitable that the Vikings are going to win the division this year and could go beyond with Favre as quarterback. That's absolutely hilarious!!! The Chicago Bears will have something to say about that! Even with Favre on the Vikings, the Bears have, by far, the best quarterback in the division THIS YEAR. And, let's not forget about what the Vikings do best..........They CHOKE! They've made choking an art form and a way of life in that flaky loony land of Stuart Smalley.

did'nt here that Cuttler had brought B. Marshal and E. Royal to Chicago with him.... He can't throw the ball to himself so he left a perfect situation in Denver to become a non factor. The Bears will still suck! have a nice day
