Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco claims that he will tweet during games no matter what the NFL says. The NFL bans cellular devices in the bench area, and Ochocinco risks fines for ignoring such a ban. Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk suggests that openly defying the NFL policy might even lead to suspension. These days, it's hard to say what the NFL commissioner might do.Ochocinco certainly isn't afraid of fines as some of his fined behavior is the reason that even non-NFL fans know who he is. So how can he get his tweet on during games at OGOchoCinco without getting fined?
Probably the easiest way would be to have a good friend sitting in the front row behind the bench with a cell phone to type for him. In some stadiums this would be easier than others because you need a bench area pretty close to the stands. I've never been there, but from the looks of the stadium chart and seating view, you could easily do this at Paul Brown Stadium.
Ochocinco would want it to be a good friend because you can't trust just anyone with your Twitter account. And probably someone who can type in appropriate Ochocinco Twitter style and punctuation. Seems to me that it would be hard for the NFL to draft a specific Twitter rule that would fine a player from just talking to the fans.
Does anyone else have other ideas how a player could tweet during games without getting punished?
Might be a moot question because punishment isn't going to stop Ochocinco because fines, even for the style of his uniform, just mean he gets more publicity. Or perhaps as he says on his Twitter account:
God said to honor thy mother and thy father, no where in the ten commandments does it say NFL!!So there you go. Commissioner Roger Goodell, you are not the god of Chad.

It is an offense to fans and his other teammates if Ochocinco follows through and Twitters during games. He should concentrate on catching the damn ball. And I think Goodell has it in his power to make his life miserable if need be.

There is no rule against tweeting during games. There is a rule against cellular devices in the bench area. Whether something is a rule or not a rule, it's likely a better idea to stay focused on the game in progress. But, maybe this is just a high tech way to say "Hi Mom!" and the like, not in the camera but rather in a different form of communication. Just a thought.
No other ideas for fine-free tweeting?

If you are so accomplished that you can focus on other things like twittering during the game, that means you don't have enough to do. Hell...make him play offense, defense, special teams, etc... I bet he won't twit s*** then. HAHA!!! The way Goddell is handling all the player goofs these days, he better chill and don't say another word. It would really piss him off if Goddell made him change his number.

If it says no cellular devices, what if there was a laptop? Guys are talking and cutting up on the sidelines all the time, right? How is it an offense if he takes 60 seconds to type something out?
I'm not saying it's the smartest thing in the world, but offensive? Give me a break.

I haven't said anything that could have possibly offended a reasonable person, nor have I used colorful language or told obscene lewd or offensive jokes on your chron.com blog, but every time I try to post, this is what I get.

I don't understand. That's just plain wrong. Obviously I can't complain there, because I can't post.
What's up with that?

I lost about 5 substantial paragraphs of comment, then I just got frustrated and forgot to save it to a document.
In spite of all the things that can go wrong with the internet, and knowing about them, when it happens to you it still feels kinda personal.
I bet if I could post under a name that I haven't posted under there that would tell me something about the problem, with the system, or what ever.
