Raiders Launch Unique Ticket Drive as a 'Billboard Campaign'

In celebration of their 50th season in existence, the Oakland Raiders have created a series of billboards that will be displayed in the Bay Area. These aren't just run-of-the-mill billboards, though. In fact, they will feature images of the most famous plays in the history of the franchise. The kicker? There will be a toll-free phone number on each billboard, which anyone can call to hear the radio broadcast replay of that particular play.

The plays featured will be Bo Jackson's 91-yard touchdown, George Blanda's 53-yard game-winning field goal, Jim Plunkett's 99-yard touchdown pass, the 1978 "Holy Roller" finish and Tyrone Wheatley's "unstoppable run" in 2000.
Now, I should warn you that I called a few of the numbers and there is a prompt to call a different number and purchase tickets after the radio highlight. Still, you can listen to the radio call without having to dial the new number. It seems a decent way to kill time if stuck in traffic on the way home from work.

Here are the numbers:

George Blanda kicks a game-winner in 1970: 866.508.5050

The Holy Roller, 1978: 877.482.5050

Jim Plunkett to Cliff Branch for 99 yards and a score: 877.964.5050

Bo Jackson: 877.419.5050

Tyrone Wheatley "unstoppable" run: 877.934.5050
