Terrell Owens said last week the Dallas Cowboys got rid of him to make him a scapegoat for Tony Romo's failure to become a leader. But when Romo was asked this week to respond to Owens' comments, he declined to get into a war of words with his highly volatile ex-teammate.
Instead, Romo took the high road, praising Owens' abilities and saying the Cowboys will miss him on the field.
"He's a great player, and I think it's going to be hard to replace a player of his ability and his talent," Romo told ESPN's Ed Werder. "That's not easy to do with a guy that talented."
Romo also suggested that the media may have been misrepresenting Owens' criticism of Romo.
"I didn't see it, so once again I don't know," Romo said. "I know that sometimes you guys misrepresent what he says."
On that score, I think Romo is wrong. I don't think the media needs to misrepresent what Owens says because I think Owens gives the media more than enough material to work with. But when asked to reply, Romo was smart not to escalate the situation by following Owens' lead.
The bottom line is that T.O. is a good player. That's all that matters. The other stuff is irrelevant. When the Cowboys lose a good player, that hurts the team. When the Bills add a good player, that helps the team. Bills fans are going to be glad they got T.O., and Romo is going to wish he had found a way to get along with him.
He is a good player I heard he just dated a much younger girl on a celebrity and luxury dating site loving Rich (DOT)com. Seems he is a certified millionaire there.
Romo was 'wrong' but 'smart'! Ohhh K! Leave it to fanhouse to start something again. So there you have it Micheal David Smith. Do us all fans a favor and find another job!!
When will we have the luxury of not hearing for Tony Romo period. He is a below average quarterback who had the chance to throw to one of the best receivers of this decade. He was given a great O-line, multiple talented RBs, and one of the best TEs in the league in Witten. THe guy still can't get it done. He is a choke artist. All the Cowboys are doing is making themselves media relevant for a few more years before they fire EVERYONE. That means Wade, Garrett, and especially aw shucks Romo. Seriously, when will they finally figure it out?
Team chemistry has not been there for Dallas. The old guys found a way to win. It has not happened yet for this group. Jerry has spent a lot of dough to come up dry. It is his money !T.O. will certainly be missed. How could a player of his ability not be. It's time for those under achieving backups to step up. Where is Drew Pearson when you need him ?
Romo was right and honest in his comments.... he didn't take any high road...Owens is a great football player...he was baited by the media a lot of times.....after Owens reads what Romo said he will be texting Romo and they will be 'friends"....Romo is a good QB and a decent guy...he tells it like it is....A Dallas QB doesn't make decisions about players leaving or joining a team...ask Jerry Jones..........
I will keep it short. Near the end of last year when Romo came back and the Cowboys were in their losing slump, I posted and posted about how they were not using T.O to the best of his capabilities. I do not know if it was Garrett's or Romo's fault, but they did not incorporate short passes to T.O. I mean on the line of scrimmage kind, especially on 1st down. The guy will fall down 3 yards for goodness sake. When I heard they were letting go T.O, I was stunned for I thought that they were smart enough to overcome the BS of last year. I guess not. Smart organizations win, hate to say it, but look at the Patriots.
TO & Romo both suck. yes TO is a good player but he has such a bad attitude & romo chokes every year in the playoffs. romo cant be that great until he has a ring on his finger...when that happens we'll see.
i'll go along with romo bein a good guy n TO bein an ass...but im not planning on hanging out with either 1.....the way the schedule begins this year, dallas could very easily be 0-3 to start.if that happens, you will see something no1 imagined possible...dallas fans begging fot TO 2 return....lol....but as ive been saying for a long time....yall aint winning squat as long as jerry "the moron" jones is running that show

Tony Romo has 1 year to prove himself. Without TO Dallas will be 9-7. Romo needs to be a leader. Suck it up. Stop blaming people. Take control.
Stop joking with media like you've accomplished something. He makes an ass of himself to get the soundbites and then chokes on Sundays and Mondays.

This will be the last year we have to endure Romo's thumb sucking. I predict he'll be benched before the year is out.
