Donte' Stallworth May Have Been High on the Potgrass at Time of His Accident

Donte Stallworth marijuana hit and run manslaughterDonte' Stallworth, in terms of how he will be treated by the American justice system, has moved past his crimes. He settled his DUI manslaughter case with the Reyes family -- and news that leaked out late last night might provide a pretty good reason as to why he settled so quickly.

Turns out that Stallworth, in addition to having imbibed in some alcohol before hitting Reyes with his car, also allegedly had marijuana in his system.
Stallworth's test results, which have yet to be released, showed traces of marijuana, according to sources with knowledge of the results.

In 2007, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Stallworth was in the NFL's substance abuse program for an unspecified reason.
Roger Goodell, folks, is no fan of crimes committed by NFL players. And when those crimes are compounded by additional criminal circumstances, well, the Commish becomes particularly displeased. Given that Stallworth killed someone while driving drunk and now has the additional "drug factor," which came into play after he was suspended indefinitely.

I'm not saying that Goodell won't let Stallworth back into the league, but I do think that you'll see the wideout removed from football for a lengthy period of time. Coupled with the Michael Vick and Plaxico Burress issues, Goodell has three very prominent cases in which to make examples of a few bad apples for the rest of the league.
