Michael Vick's construction job didn't last for long.Needing a job to meet his house arrest requirements and with the NFL currently blocked as an option, Vick had started working construction last month in Hampton, Va. But he's left that job to start working for the local Boys and Girls Club. Although it's not exactly clear what he'll be doing with the Boys and Girls Club, they said he'll be working on health and fitness with the kids.
The move is a smart one for Vick in two ways. For one, it's simply an easier job than working construction, but more importantly it's one that could help meet NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's requirements of showing that he has changed for the better since his conviction. Working with and helping kids is a good way to do that.
Now let's just hope he's better at it than Peyton Manning:

Yes, they are "just" dogs, but dog fights are horribly cruel. These dogs are misstreated, shot up, non-socialized (even with other dogs) and then expected to kill or be killed. So, yes, it IS a big thing, and fighting these cases takes nothing away from the regular police force as they are investigated by designated animal protective services.

Gee kpearce, it must be hell living in a world where you're so afraid of dogs that you have to say stupid crap like that. Of course they're just dogs, but people love dogs despite idiots like you who are so small you have to write in caps or otherwise people would doubt your existence. I'd take my dog over an ignorant moron like you any day.

Yeah, I agree it's tough to work for 2 hours, take a break, work another 90 minutes, break for an hour lunch, work another 2 hrs, take another break, and then goof off the rest of the day. A Normal man couldn't handle that, let alone a World Class Athlete.

ya right. drinking that much coffee and soda standing around in work boots as opposed to working out and dancing in your cleats avoiding 300 pound monsters trying to kick your butt. dude, construction ain't that bad until you've been doing it for 12 years or better.

Obviously you jokers have never worked in construction. Concrete construction is a b*tch and is one of the hardest, back-breaking jobs there is. You pansies probably sit behind a desk all day. You wouldn't last one day in construction. Vick obviously couldn't.

Are you referring to all athletes black and white being on welfare if they were not playing pro ball?
Shows how ignorant you are because there are plenty of former athletes who are educated, successful, and are not on welfare.

William, as much as you don't like Vick's because I don't either don't stop your donations for the kids. You are taking it out on the kids what Vick's did.

If you withhold funds from this organization because they want to use Vick to teach the kids a lesson and fitness, then you never believed in the work of this organization because in reality you don't know who works at any of their sites. they may have convicted white collar criminals doing work there. Support the work of this organization if you really believe in the worthiness of what they do.
