Leadership is a funny thing, Tony Romo said a few weeks ago. When you're winning football games nobody says anything about it. When you're losing, everybody talks about the lack of it.
Thursday afternoon, Terrell Owens made note of the lack of leadership in his last season with the Cowboys -- a year that ended with a 9-7 record and no playoff berth. Notably, Owens singled out Romo, his quarterback of the last three seasons for not being a leader.
It's funny, but Owens never questioned Romo's leadership abilities before. But now, Owens is of the belief that the quarterback had something to do with him getting released by the Cowboys.
Owens feels betrayed by the Cowboys. He believes owner Jerry Jones lied by telling him he wouldn't get cut. But Jones said the decision to release Owens was bigger than him -- it was time for a change, one that the Cowboys hope is for the better.
"So, for whatever reason, I'll be the scapegoat," Owens said. "I'm not here. Now, it's [Romo's] team, you know, and I wish him well."
It remains to be seen if the Cowboys are really better off without him. They are betting on Roy Williams to emerge as the leading receiver on this team, though his numbers have gone down every year he's earned a NFL paycheck.
The story of Owens vs. the Cowboys is becoming a tired story, much like the tales of of Owens vs. the Eagles, Ravens and 49ers did. And one day it will probably be Owens vs. the Bills.
Owens has to move on. The Cowboys have.
Jones told reporters on Thursday he didn't know Owens was in town, then declined to talk about the man.
But Owens can't get enough of the Cowboys.
"I don't know what happened," Owens said of how it ended with Dallas. "Obviously, somebody is lying somewhere. I don't know what happened. All I know is that I'm not here. I'm with the Buffalo Bills and I'll leave it at that."

Owens was too busy to stop and give the little kid a high-five. Instead, the boy with his hand up was told to get with the other kids his age. It was time to work. "Don't ask me any personal questions," Owens barked. "Right now, we're here to talk football." Rude or focused? Serious or showboating? Love him or hate? A manboy with a supreme negro attitude that has gotten him just where he should be, nowhere. What he needs is his ass whupped and some teeth knocked out so he can shut the fugg up. Boy, do I hate to have to agree with Owens. Romo hasn't shown the leadership needed to be a great quarterback yet but Owens just needs to keep his mouth shut and concentrate on HIS game. This guy has been a cancer everywhere he's played, which is a shame because he has such great talent.

TO thinks he is God. I will never forget the Niner game when he left the field toward the end of 4th qtr. to come back in a big hat and a furcoat on! His reason--you took me outta the game. Sure he got fined, fined, fined, fined et nauseaum Now when he gets fed up being a Buffalo Bill--he will cry waaaa I want to go to another team. I hear feeble Al Davis saying be a Raider be a Raider.
I predicted he would be the first team out of the new show The Superstars and he was and his teammate said you say you are an athlete.? TO would not talk to anyone and walked away, only later to say something dumb as usual
Sadly this crap has overshawdowed the passing of ms. Farrah Fawcett, Mr. Ed McMahon and Mr. Micheal Jackson. We all have flaws and admit them. I sure do. Does TO ever admit he has flaws?
Our world is falling apart TO--use your money to help the poor, disabiled, our children and stop whining about Tony Romo. Open your eyes and see what is happening to us all, as you count your money.
I am a disabled woman fighting to keep her apartment because she can't afford the rent increase. landlod thinks it is fine to put me on the streets. NOT says my lawyer, doctor and yes a police officicer dealing with tenants below who party all nite long and keep me awake.
Thanks for letting me have my say philly,

I agree with T.O. Tony Romo has skills but he's no leader. There's good and then there's GREAT, Romo's good, not great.

OF COURSE T,O would think this ,thats because he has a mind that revolves around himself , AND WE ALL KNOW HE WAS THE LEADER OF ANY TEAM THAT HE PLAYED ON (in his own mind) Maybe Romo was not a leader while he (T,O) played for Dallas but in my opinion thats because he was stirring up so much BULL and upsetting the locker room BUT now Romo has the chance to prove HE CAN BE A LEADER..Best Regards Steve Dublin Ireland
