Packers' Al Harris on Favre: 'Everybody Here Loves Brett'

Packers cornerback Al Harris says there is still a lot of love for Brett Favre in Green Bay.Yes, it's Brett Favre again. You know you can't live without him.

As more rumors circulate, and the vision of Brett Favre wearing purple gets closer and closer to becoming a reality, it stands to reason that current members of the Green Bay Packers will be asked for their thoughts on the matter. It's not likely that you'll hear many words of dissent towards Favre. That's just not the way most athletes speak nowadays. Instead, you can expect to see many guys take the high road, ala Aaron Rodgers, and others showing some love for their former teammate.

Among those expressing support is veteran cornerback Al Harris, who was asked during an interview if the Favre topic is as hot in the Packers' locker room as it seems to be practically everywhere else.
"Not really," Harris said on Sirius NFL Radio. "I haven't thought about it. We're learning a new scheme, so I'm really into the defense and what's going on. The media, they try to bring it up every now and then but really, we're just trying to win and get better as a team, as a unit.

"Everybody here loves Brett. Brett has to make decisions for him and his family - what's best for him and his family - so however that works out, I wish him the best of luck and I support him. But I'm here in Green Bay. Aaron is our quarterback. We're just pushing forward."
Well, Al, I'm guessing that Rodgers doesn't "love" Favre, but that's nitpicking.

In all honesty, Harris answered the question very well. While many Packer fans may take issue with the notion that "everybody loves Brett", the reality is that Favre's flip-flopping and desire to play for a really good Minnesota team will be forgotten about in five years.

I would even go a step further and say that Favre could reconcile with the Packers organization within mere moments of his real retirement, whenever that ends up happening. After all, it's in the best interest of both parties, since Favre's legacy will always be that of a Packer, no matter what he may do in a different uniform.
