The shocking TMZ report that Michael Jackson died Thursday has repercussions that go far beyond the world of sports, but in our corner of the world, we should note that the King of Pop had the greatest Super Bowl halftime show performance in history.
The Super Bowl performance was Jan. 31, 1993, and it looked like the Super Bowl halftime show had given the then-34-year-old Jacko a career resurgence. It didn't quite work out that way -- allegations of child molestation will hurt a career -- but he did give us the most memorable Super Bowl halftime show ever.
TMZ reported Thursday afternoon that Jackson had died at the age of 50. He is survived by his three children (Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II), his eight siblings (Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, La Toya, Marlon, Randy and Janet) and his parents, Joseph and Katherine.

A New Jersey concert promoter has sued entertainer Michael Jackson for $40 million for allegedly breaching a contract to play a reunion concert with other family members. In a lawsuit filed Wednesday June 10, 2009 in federal court in Manhattan, Allgood Entertainment claims it made a deal with Jackson's then-manager to produce a reunion concert with the Jackson family this summer. Ok lets get something straight, he was a musical icon, but we all know what he was in the bedroom, a pedophile. Just because the jury clears you does`nt mean you`re not guilty. ( see O.J. ) He won`t be greatly missed cause the only thing that made him relevant in the last decade was not his music but his child molestation trial. Lets not forget he dangled his kid out of a window ledge and he admitted to sleeping with kids in his bed and that he thought there was nothing wrong with it. Well I don`t to see a man die, but I have no sympathy for him and maybe his kids will be able to have a normal up-bringing now. Gotta feel bad for the one he named BLANKET. and one last thing, don`t ever compare him to Elvis or Lennon. Elvis was just bigger than life and Lennon not only wrote great songs he was a great musician.

I agree with Derek G. Don't compare him with Lennon or Elvis......there is no comparison. I too certainly don't wish anyone dead, but he was a sicko.
