You simply won't believe this, but it's a day that ends in "y" and there's another Brett Favre/Vikings rumor! It's amazing right? Wrong. It's called "standard operating procedure."But I guess this one has some meat: a source has informed WCCO's Mark Rosen that, confirming a previous report, Favre and the team have agreed to a deal and that Favre will be at Vikings training camp (they even have a fake Sports Illustrated cover with Favre as a Viking to back it up!).
That source said that Favre and the Vikings have indeed come to a contractual agreement, with heavy incentives. The Vikings equipment manager has already ordered number 4 purple jerseys with his name on it.
I assume that Cook and Favre are friends as well as business buddies, but, I mean, come on: there's no way Cook can't be at least a little fed up with his client's persistence at this point, right?
Or maybe he enjoys it because he gets his ya-ya's from jerking the media around and making fools of us all. Or maybe me using all these words to even talk about it is the exact reason why Cook's good at his job and Favre will never leave us alone.

As a life long Packer and A-Rog fan I say, "bring it on Brett." Don't get me wrong. I love Brett. If this is what he really wants then good for him. But, as all the current players on the Vikings are gonna learn, it's all about Brett and not about team. Once again, Brett has managed to skip all the mini-camps and conditioning work.
Now he is gonna expect to come in and have everyone bow down to him him and say Brett, the team is yours. How do you think that is gonna make a lot of the Viking players feel? The players who have been working and preparing for the 2009 season since March are gonna be put off from the beginning with his arrogance. As long as they win, everything will be all right. But, as soon as Farve throws one of his pass's into double coverage or throws it up for grabs, the grumbling is going to start.
There is one thing I would like to say to Brett. Brett, who are you really trying to stick it to? Are you trying to get back at Ted Thompson? Or, are you trying to get back at all your loyal fans here in Wisconsin?
We stood behind you and still cheered even though, time after time, you threw interception after interception and broke our hearts so many countless times since Super Bowl XXXI. What have we ever done to you? You are showing us no respect what so ever. But as I wrote earlier, it all about Brett; and not about anyone else. So all I can say, lets lace em' up and we'll meet you on the 50 for the coin toss.

Man, are you the Cry Baby! Brett is doing this terrible thing just to break your tender heart! How awful!!
Go cheer your Aaron Rodgers on into mediocre land, geldonski, because that is the Packers are headed. And take a box of tissues with because you are going to need them.

i think its pretty horrible you can sit there typing away at your pc like nothing doin, throwing that garbage around that Favre (best player the packers ever had) is trying to stick it to US. Your kidding right? your a life long fan? sure doesnt sound it. You know you cheered on Brett for years, now he's some sort of jerk who hates the Packer fans... unbelievable! He would still be ehre if he wasnt exiled to NY... Ted didnt HAVE to start A-Rod, it wasnt like they invested their life into drafting him. Dont forget pal, he FREE FALLED 20 something spots in the draft and LITTERALY fell on their laps... not exactly an all in investment. memo: guys wgho play 18 seasons generally get around things that the youngsters dont...e.g. minicamps, ota's... If a guy wants to play football and team(s) are interested, then who are any of us to say he cant do that, especially if the team he played 16 years for doesnt want him? And save the crap about how Ted did the right thing or blah blah blah, i followed this story to a T since the day he retired, so i'm quite familiar with the situation.
This day and age its not rare at all for players to finish up elsewhere... this isnt a brand new concept.

And -he will be great and put-up great numbers but come on packer fans you know deep in your hearts he is no Farve, and that is the only reason you feel as though Brett is breaking your heart. This is typical Favre but he really wants to play with the Vikes and has wanted to for a while. If hes healthy he can still win and if he does win they will love him.

That turkey with the long name that starts with "G" has his head in his butt...Brett is the GREATEST QB ever and you turkeys in Green Bay lived off his exploits and when TT run Brett out of town like he was a non name rookie you sided with TT. By mid season you will be giving up on Arron whats his name and begging for Brett and the Vikings to go easy on the Pack. I WAS a Packer fan for 70 plus years, yes a solid Packer fan in the days of Charlie Brock, Cec Isbel and Don Hutson, even before the great Lombardi days but when TT dumped Brett that was TOO much...no more Packer fan. chuck from kingsford

You know, what goes around, comes around in this world. I do hope I get to see it! I hope Favre is healthy, signs with the Vikings, and beats GB soundly twice this year ;) Then, "Teddy boy" will understand karma is a "witch"! lol Favre wanted to play for the Vikes when GB releasaed him, but his contract for release said he could not play for a division rival; thus, he went to the Jets. Now he is free to play for whomever he wants, and that appears to be the Vikings. You go Brett and kick some booty on the way for me ;) There was some reason that clause was put in your release last year lol
Have a good day all,
Brenda for the Cowboys all the way !!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, right! just like he did last year. 6 and 10! The leader of the Pack. I thought it was really funny that at the end of the season, Aaron said he was really proud that he was able to play all 16 games. Never mind he lost 10 of them. He showed up for all 16. That was what was important, not winning them.
Another NFL great in the making!!??
Dan, you just have to get off that funny stuff your taking!!

WOW, for 15 years it was cool to hate Favre for his iron man ability. Now I have to cheer for him to do well. But the Vikes are a perfect fit for him, it is his offense. With the #1 running game and one of the top Ds. Peterson led the league even with 8 and 9 stopping the run, they have to drop those guys now. Imagine what he will get, 2000 may be in reach or Favre will eat them alive.

I am a life long Vikes fan- and a long time Favre fan. He is real. His wife's illness, his father's passing, dead brother-in-law, etc... Through all of that, through pain, drug addiction, rain, sleet, snow, he played. He played his ass off. Every single game, with the enthusiasm of a kid. Any of you not miss a day of work in 17 years? Not practice, work. Not too many I'm guessing.
I would love to see #4 play for the Vikings, but if he doesn't, he is still one of the toughest, no, greatest players to ever play professional football.
I understand the packer fans' frustration. Trust me, I do. We gave Dallas what turned out to be Aikman, Irvin and Smith, and we got Walker. I'm not saying that Rogers is a bust, but he isn't Brett Favre. No one is.
