Last week, the Denver Broncos' Brandon Marshall requested a trade. Just like former teammate quarterback Jay Cutler a few months before. Cutler got his wish (he's now in Chicago), but head coach Josh McDaniels says he has no plans to grant Marshall his wish. Of course, that's what McDaniels said about Cutler right up till he was traded, so who knows how this works out. In the meantime, the 33-year-old, first-year head coach, like the rest of us, will have to wait and see on Marshall, who left Denver yesterday to resume his holdout.
Marshall, dissatisfied with both his contract and previous medical treatment, requested the Broncos trade him a week ago and skipped the team's mandatory minicamp last weekend. And makin' a wave when you can (temporary layoffs!).
Marshall was scheduled to fly back to Orlando, Fla., later on Friday. What remains unclear is if he'll be back when the rest of his teammates report for training camp in the final days of July. Marshall wouldn't say one way or the other.
"Life, man. So much gets thrown at you at once sometimes, you've got to be able to embrace it and keep your head above water," Marshall said.
If Marshall does end up elsewhere when the season begins, McDaniels will have run off the team's two most dangerous offensive weapons, which will only intensify the scrutiny.
Given that the Broncos have underachieved the last three seasons, and that last year's team played most of the year without a defense, McDaniels' honeymoon period is probably already over. God help the man should Denver start the season 0-3.

Brandon, if you can read this, (I'm sorry, I can't draw Pictures!)Get your butt back to Denver and show the Broncos that you have matured and are worthy of a raise. After all, Pat Bowlen has stood by your side when you have screwed up, which by the way comes quite naturally to you. Act like the man you think you are. Then try to put two (2) good season's together where you are not injured or in trouble with the law. (If you can't read this, then get someone to read to you.
