Last Brandon Marshall post for a bit, I promise (unless he's traded, then there will be approximately 14 more plus a graphic novel).
But when there are trade rumors floating out there, it's best to go right to the source. And so we turn here to Brandon Marshall's personal Web site. As everyone blabbered on Tuesday about whether or not the Broncos would relent to Marshall's wishes and trade him, Marshall himself filed a post that sounded a lot like a goodbye to the fans of Denver.
To whom it may concern. Life is filled with change, and where I am in my life now change is probably best. It's hard leaving an organization ran by one of the best owners in all of sports, and someone who's been there for me through my ups and downs. The hardest thing was hearing Mr. B [Broncos owner Pat Bowlen] wish me luck in the future, but we both came to the conclusion that this is probably the best thing for me to grow on and off the field.
I thank the Denver fans who embraced my emotion and play on the field and showing me love every time I step outside my door.
Of course, this whole situation could still resolve itself, and Marshall could wind up in Denver orange and blue again in 2009 -- just like the Jay Cutler situation could have worked itself out. Awwwwww.
But this really sounds like the end of the line. Assuming Marshall's not lying here, and Bowlen actually did wish him "luck in the future", then Marshall has every reason to bid the Broncos faithful adieu.

I love it! My favorite team is crashing & burning thanks to the absolute stupidity of Pat Bowlen. There is no doubt in my mind that if he saw all this coming, he would have never fired Shanny. I'm sure McDumbass will find an ex-New England Patriot to replace him........

Couldn't have said it better myself. Except that they aren't my favorite team anymore, the team I knew is now retired or a Bear, hoping Marshall goes there too...
Miami is my #1 now, grew up loving them.

I'm sorry to say but that's really sad to hear. I'm a die hard 49ers fan and once the Yorks took over it started to go downhill but now we're back with Singeltary and things are looking up. Things have a way of panning out and if the Broncos do have a successful year I don't wanna hear you two saying, I knew it was gonna happen!
Stay true no matter what

Hey........I don't care if the Broncos go out and win a Super Bowl this year (which they won't), I am done with them. When McDumbass gets his walking papers, I may come back. However, as long as this egotistical numbnuts who looks like he is twelve years old is calling the shots, I will cheer for Denver to loose every game. I want this guy to become the Ryan Leaf of the NFL coaching ranks. This is coming from a 20+ year season ticket holder that flys to Denver for almost all the home games. I live in Atlanta now and we have a pretty good up and coming team in this city!

My guess is that Marshall is leaving and probably heading to the friggin' Cowboys where Shanahan will land next year.

This receiver wants traded because he believes his value is higher than that of the very contract he signed and is supposed to be upholding? What happens if he would have had below average season last year, would this give the right to the owner to ask for money back? These freaking football players similar to Baseball, and Basketbal are too greedy for their own good. All he needs to do, is play out the final year of his current contract and become a free agent, then demand all that he is entitled to, but again, greed. They want it all now!
I hope Denver can't trade him, though I can't see another team taking on this cancer anyway. He has legal issues that could land him a suspension by the NFL, and if that happens no team will take the risk of trading for him, to sit on the bench for what, 4-6 games?
Loser, loser loser.
Thank goodness my team, my home town team's owner is amongst the best in the business.

Grew up in Denver and though I haven't lived in the Mile High City for 18 years, I'm still a die-hard Broncos fan. I don't like what they're doing right now, but I'm not giving up on my home team. I still proudly wear my Elway, Davis and McCaffrey jerseys (and the orange crush t-shirts I've had since well, ages ago). And come Sundays this fall, I'll still display my true colors.
I shall not be counted among the fair-weather fans.

I can assure you, I am NOT a fair weather fan. I have been loyal through some pretty lousy seasons. I will always proudly wear my Elway jersey and display all my Bronco memorabilia in my sportsbar. There was never a John Elway 4th quarter comeback at Mile High Stadium that I did not personally witness. I'll never forgot partying with #7 at Brooks Steakhouse right after he played his last game in Denver by beating Parcells' Jets in the AFC Championship game. I have been to road games in Philly, Pittsburgh, NY Giants, NY Jets, Washington, Dallas and Atlanta wearing an Elway jersey. I had no problem with Dan Reeves, Wade Phillips and certainly not Mike Shanahan, HOWEVER, I cannot stomach this McDaniels prick who values his ego over the team and talks out of both sides of his mouth. Barring injury, Jay Cutler would have probably broken most of John Elway's records and been a HOF QB. But instead of fixing the 29th worst defense in the NFL, all the coach wants to do is screw with the ALL-PRO-QB. Despite his great talent, I am not a Marshall fan. But who can blame him for leaving.......

I have supported the Broncos all my life, but no more. Bowlen is a bastard, and a lying pig. I'll be back when Bowlen is gone. Until that time comes... GO BEARS!

I am praying that Da Bears are working on getting Marshall. Why is it every time a athlete complains about his contract we always fill that they signed the contract and should stay in a under paying role. Last year when you thought of the Broncos you though about Cutler and Marshall. Now at my 9-5 when customers or fellow employees need something they come to me. Knowing the importance I am to my job and how under payed and unhappy that makes me I have every right to ask for more money and if it is not honored, I also have the right to look for another job that will pay me. Why is a athlete any differant it's not personal it's business.

I think it's sad to be a fan of a team and give up like that on a team- in reality not fans at all. Im a die-hard Eagles fan and proud, knowing 90 percent of football fans hate anything to do with the Eagles. Ive seen the Eagles make more brain-dead decisions that infuriated me, than any team. Still though, my outlook on the organization hasn't changed at all. For anyone who hates Philadelphia, come to a game at the Linc., and you'll see unmatched unconditional fans. Whether it was the 6-10 years or the 11-5, the fans never changed. I personally hated letting Brian Dawkins go to the Broncos, even though he's near the last stages of his career I would've loved to see the Eagles sign him for a couple of years and eventually keep him as team personel/ potentially D-Back Coach. I just don't see how people can give up on a team like these others. It's like giving up on your city.

Players have no loyalty to teams......so why should fans be expected to be any different. If Dawkins had any loyalty to the Eagles, he would have stayed for less money. Everything is a "business" these days from all perspectives.
