Marshall Says Goodbye, Thanks Fans

Last Brandon Marshall post for a bit, I promise (unless he's traded, then there will be approximately 14 more plus a graphic novel).

But when there are trade rumors floating out there, it's best to go right to the source. And so we turn here to Brandon Marshall's personal Web site. As everyone blabbered on Tuesday about whether or not the Broncos would relent to Marshall's wishes and trade him, Marshall himself filed a post that sounded a lot like a goodbye to the fans of Denver.
To whom it may concern. Life is filled with change, and where I am in my life now change is probably best. It's hard leaving an organization ran by one of the best owners in all of sports, and someone who's been there for me through my ups and downs. The hardest thing was hearing Mr. B [Broncos owner Pat Bowlen] wish me luck in the future, but we both came to the conclusion that this is probably the best thing for me to grow on and off the field.

I thank the Denver fans who embraced my emotion and play on the field and showing me love every time I step outside my door.
Not exactly the "See ya at training camp" that coach Josh McDaniels was hoping for.

Of course, this whole situation could still resolve itself, and Marshall could wind up in Denver orange and blue again in 2009 -- just like the Jay Cutler situation could have worked itself out. Awwwwww.

But this really sounds like the end of the line. Assuming Marshall's not lying here, and Bowlen actually did wish him "luck in the future", then Marshall has every reason to bid the Broncos faithful adieu.
