Matt MillenAnd the Matt Millen Redemption Tour rolls on.

The former Lions general manager and team president, who had cornered the market on Detroit's hatred until Sidney Crosby sauntered along, will be the new analyst on the NFL Network's Thursday Night Football broadcasts.

Millen will replace Cris Collinsworth -- John Madden's successor on Monday Night Football -- and will team with Bob Papa in the NFL Network booth.

Millen was fired three weeks into the Lions' disastrous 2008 season -- leaving Detroit after posting a 31-97 overall record in his time there

Millen, a long-time color commentator prior to being hired by the Lions, resurfaced in January as a studio analyst for NBC's NFL coverage. He continued in that role through the Super Bowl. About a month ago, Millen signed on with ESPN to do some NFL studio work, and possibly jump in on college football coverage. There's been no indication that Millen's agreement with the NFL Network will change those plans.

The NFL Network's first Thursday night broadcast of the 2009 season takes place on Nov. 12 when Chicago heads to San Francisco.
