Well, whaddya know, Joey Porter is back at the complaint department. The easily irritated Dolphin linebacker doesn't like all this talk about the Patriots being the favorite to win the AFC East in 2009. The only problem with Porter's reasoning is that the Dolphins had to beat the Chargers to be the champs."I don't understand how you can put somebody in front of us. We won the championship. We were AFC East champions. I just don't think it's supposed to happen like that. You've got to beat somebody to be the champs. We had to beat somebody to be the champs."
The Dolphins won the division in 2008 because they won the fourth tie-breaker from the Patriots, which was the best won-lost percentage of games played within the conference. The Dolphins went 8-4 and the Pats went 7-5, likely because they had to play the Colts and Steelers. That's not to say that the Dolphins didn't deserve it, but it isn't quite going out there and beating someone to become the champs.
The Patriots went 11-5 last season and get Tom Brady, among other injured players, back this year. That's part of the reason why they're the favorites entering this season. The other part is because the Dolphins are the ones who draw the tough schedule this time around. They've got a trip to San Diego and they host the Steelers, while the Patriots get an easier draw with the Ravens at home and a trip to the Broncos.
Neither of those games are easy, but they're easier than what the Dolphins have on the table. As 2008 showed us, these things can be decided by very slim margins so you look for every advantage you can find.
Given the way the Dolphins defied expectations last season, you'd say Porter should find other ways to occupy his time. We'll sooner see an aardvark playing quarterback for the Cowboys than Porter stops finding reasons for irrational anger, though. So rage on, J-Peezy, and we'll keep the light on for you.

Joey Porter doesn't understand, because his mouth is bigger than his brain - I'd be surprised if he could understand anything

Actually, he has a valid point. I'm not a Dolphins fan, but I'm sick of the media already handing the Lombardi Trophy to the Patriots when the start of the season is 3 months away. Seems they didn't learn anything from the way they Hyped up the Cowgirls, uh , Cowboys last year. Brady or no Brady, New England isn't a lock to win the division or the Superbowl as many of the blowhards in the media think!!!

They will be lucky if they finish 3rd in their division much less have any shot at making playoffs. He really is an idiot but at least he isnt saying they will be lucky if they win any games.

He's got a point. Who gives a crap about who they had to play and who the poor little Pats had to play. The Pats aint shit. They won their SuperBowls by the smallest point margin ever and got there balls handed to them by the Giants. They have a Tim Conway look-a-like as their coach. Not to mention he's a cheeting scuz-bucket and dresses like a cardboard sign holding street coach. The media sucks up to Da-Pats like they do to Da-Boys from Tex-Ass. They are both in the Super Bowl, why even play the season?

Jokey Porter,
Were you even there the day the Pat's high school qb beat you up by a 48-28 score?! I remember you calling him out but funny, I just didn't see you show up!
I sure saw Coward Crow da though as he was running to the locker room screaming; "I seen the Light.....I seen the Light"!!
What do you think Brady's gonna do to you? You are the BULLITEN BOARD!!
Yeah you won the AFC (by default) and with a little help form Mangina. But it was a fluke and every one with a brain knows that. That's why you get no love...fool!

JOEY PORTER SHUT THE FU-K UP !!!!! SO TIRED OF YOUR MOUTH RUNNINGALL THE TIME AND NOTHING COMES OUT BUT SH-T.
STONEY THE PATS HATER ----- YOU ALSO !!!! YA THE GIANTS HANDED THE PATRIOTS THERE BALLS YUP BY THE SAME 3 POINTS THE PATRIOTS WON 3 SUPERBOWLS YOU ARE QUITE THE IDIOT AS CARL SAID !!!
IF BRADY did not get hurt there probably was a dam good chance they would've gone 14- 2 15-1 or even yes 16=0 again.
If you watched the same game I did ( SB 42) the first series how was there not offensive interference called ? The Tyree catch was something that would happen ounce out of 20 million times the ball would be caught like that. but let me add was a great effort by Manning to break free of the sack to even throw the ball. The Giants did deserve to Win the game the way there defense played. It just would have been nice to see a team go UNBEATEN through a season so we would not have to listen to OLD Miami players running there mouth's does anyone realize the teams they beat that year I think only 4 teams had winning records the whole year including the playoff teams they barely won some of the games by 3 to 2 or even 1 point. While the PATRIOTS beat the NFL's best teams and crushed everyone in the process.

porter will always open his mouth to pump up his team, the dolphins and patriots play in pretty much a crap conference, both teams should look out for buffalo this year who made quite a few good moves in the offseason, they have alot of young talent cathing the ball(no including T.O.) the pat's have been on top of the conference because there was no one to challenge them that's it, yeah their super bowl wins were by the skin of their teeth, i know you hate when people bad mouth your team but that's not what i'm doing i'm pointing out the obvious. i mean how do you look at the afc east: new england and what? miami, the jets, and buff? strong conference, what have 3 out of 4 of those teams done in the past 5 years? crap

What is so obvious about that?
The confrence couldn't do much because each of them pretty much got 2 losses handed to them by the Pats.
Then there are the other 10 teams the Pats had to play and win the majority of, to get to the play offs.
Then there are the 3 games of supposedly the best teams in the nfl they have to beat to win the super bowl. Also a "W" by 1 point or 40 is still a "W". That is the obvious!

you guys are idiots the dolphins have only gotten better in the offseason, they will be alot better than last year they will score more points get more yards and the defense will be much improved ,you all speculate that new england will win just because tom brady is back but ijust dont think you guys relize that matt cassell had as good a year as tom brady possibly could have had and brady might not be back ,i dont think he will have that good of a season ,i think that miami will hit him so much when they play and without a great running game miami will take both ,miami has a division winners scedual but i believe that the titans, indanapolis, both teams aret going to be as good as last and i also think miami will be able to beat all nfc south teams unless they dont play well, miami will win 11 games atleast maby 12 this year,i for one will be in atlanta for opening season to watch the dolphins and also will be in carolina ,and will be in nashville on dec 20 to see the dolphins and titans on the 50 yardline about 20 rows back.since i am from east tennessee i had never saw an nfl game live until i saw miami play the titans back around 5 year ago, miami will be alot better running the ball this season where last year there biggest plays came in the wildcat where they had better than a yard and a half ypc than base formation while pennington will have fewer yards because miami will not have to throw as much and their defense will be a pressure defense where last year it was joey porter or nothing this year jason taylor and other linebackers will get more sacks and langford, merling and the de line will have triple or more the amount of sacks from line last year
