The Minnesota Vikings haven't even tried to hide their lust for Brett Favre. That's how obvious this has all become. As training camp draws closer, you can expect to see more and more about this burgeoning story. The Vikings want Favre. Favre wants to
Rasmussen Reports conducted a survey of 500 Minnesotans, and the folks they talked to were lukewarm at best about Favre.
Just 29% of Minnesota voters think the Minnesota Vikings should sign retired quarterback Brett Favre to helm their NFL team. Forty-two percent (42%) say it's a bad idea, according to a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state.Polls are obviously prone to error. We don't know if this group of Minnesotans were Viking fans (there are plenty of Packer fans living in Minnesota, especially in the Twin Cities and around the Wisconsin border), or if any of them were regular attendees of Vikings games.
Thirty percent (30%) aren't sure if the team should sign Favre or not.

It seems that the Favre drama is likely to last at least through a portion of June. After all the stories about his legendary flip-flopping, it's hard to believe Favre can do anything -- outside of perhaps cutting off his right arm -- to make people believe him, even if he tries to unequivocally state that he is retired.
It's interesting to think that any sizable portion of Vikings fans wouldn't want him around. This certainly shouldn't be taken as an endorsement of Tarvaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels. Instead, it's probably more of a nod to concerns about Favre's age, arm, and motivations.

I DO want to see Brett Farve play ball with the Vikings or wherever else he has an offer to play.

I agree! Furthermore, it seems to me that the owner of the Vikings team pays a lot of money to people he employs to make that decision. I would like to think that they are the ones that should be surveyed. If they think Brett has what it takes to lead the team to a championship, then what's it to the rest of us to say no?

If Vikings fans don't see Brett Favre as a SIGNIFICANT upgrade over Rosenfels and Jackson, they aren't very smart.

I don't care what Bikings fan think. I really want to see him come back to play one more year. I don't want to see him retire after the season like the last season. I was Packers fan. But, I switched to Jets fan last year. If he un-retire and join Bikings, I will become Bikings fan.

Hahaha - you were a Packer fan, but switched to a Jets fan? You're a big loser. It will be real funny when Ted Thompson, Aaron Rodgers, and myself are standing there flipping you and Favre the bird this season.

Just watch out that bird doesn't bite you in the butt!
When the season is over, don't be suprised that Good Ole Teddy's finger isn't out the door permanently.

Anyone with their head screwed on straight knows that the minute Favre threw that interception against the Giants, the Packers were never going to win another Super Bowl with Favre, and neither is anybody else.
His overall performance in playoff games for the last decade speaks for itself. Six picks against the Rams, four against the Vikings, a bag of kittens in the air at Philly and of course, a nice pick in the NFC title game to cap it all off.
Thank you for Super Bowl XXXI, the 10-game winning streak against the Bears, the great career, the amazing durability, the endless records and all of the good things. NO thank you for the reckless abandon in playoff games, the off-season soap operas and the primadonna BS. Good riddance, goodbye and GET OUT.

All of the sports experts - at least the legitimate ones - predict Green Bay will do 8-8 this year, at best. That doesn't make them a playoff team. It does, however, make Aaron Rodgers just another mediocre quarterback in the NFL.
You have to wonder where GB would be if they kept Favre around another couple of years. I doubt they would be any worse than the were last year or any worse than predicted for this year.

Hey John:
I am with you on all of your posts!!! If Favre wants to play and the Vikings want him, by gosh, go for it ;) He is better than what is currently there, providing he is healthy. I love to watch him play football. Godspeed to him!
Have a great day,
Brenda for the 'Boys through good and bad ;)
PS: Frankly, the GB and Vikings games, with Favre at the helm, are games I would not miss!!
