Warrick Dunn Keeps Buying Homes for Single Parents, 'It Never Gets Old'

When Warrick Dunn entered the NFL in 1997, he decided he was going to spend a lot of his money on houses. But his goal wasn't to end up on MTV Cribs.

No, Dunn's goal was to spend money buying houses for families like his own, with a single parent struggling to keep a roof over the kids' heads. So Dunn started the Warrick Dunn Foundation, which purchases houses for single parents.

Dunn's foundation recently purchased a house for Shawn Palic and her three children. It's the 86th home his foundation has purchased.

Dunn tells the Tampa Tribune:
"Each time is different, but it never gets old,'' said Dunn, the former Florida State University standout who was released by the Bucs in a February veteran purge following his second stint in Tampa. "To see the tears of joy, that's why we do this. It's great to reward someone who works hard, to be able to bring about a life-changing situation and give the family something to be proud of. Now they have a place to feel safe and secure – a place they can call home.''
Dunn says he's not sure if he's going to retire or try to play in 2009. But whether he's done playing football or not, he's definitely not done making a difference.
