Rosenhaus Tweets: Thomas Jones Will Return to Jets Camp Next Week

It appears as if RB Thomas Jones will end his holdout and join the Jets for workouts next week.FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Despite numerous twitter updates that indicate he's in the building, I have been unable to locate agent Drew Rosenhaus. It appears, however, that Mike Tannenbaum was more successful.

Tannenbaum, the Jets' GM, is here at the meetings along with Jets owner Woody Johnson. One of Rosenhaus' clients is Jets running back Thomas Jones, who has been skipping the team's voluntary workouts this spring due to dissatisfaction with his contract. But Rosenhaus' latest "tweet" gives a strong indication that he met with Tannenbaum Tuesday and the situation has been addressed:

"Thomas Jones will attend the Jets OTA next Wednesday," Rosenhaus' latest tweet reads.

It's unclear what brought about the thaw, since the Jets have shown no willingness to budge on Jones' contract. He's scheduled to make $900,000 this year after making $13.1 million the past two years on a deal that was front-loaded by his own request.

FanHouse's Calvin Watkins reported last week that Jones was holding out for a new deal because he was afraid the Jets would cut him in 2010, but the Jets weren't buying that argument and seemed much more focused on getting a new deal done with fellow holdout Leon Washington than adjusting anything about Jones' deal.

Regardless, something appears to have been worked out here this afternoon, and Rosenhaus now says the Jets will have their big back back next week.
