Brett Favre has signaled once again that he is contemplating a return to the NFL, this time by paying a visit to orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews for an examination of his throwing arm.
Ed Werder and Chris Mortensen of ESPN are reporting that Favre consulted with Andrews to go over the options for healing Favre's partially torn biceps tendon. Andrews apparently told Favre there were various exercises he could try, and Favre would like to sign with the Vikings if those exercises get his arm in good enough shape to play.
All indications are that Favre is feeling the itch to play in 2009 if his arm is healthy enough, but that he doesn't want to have to go through a surgery and a long rehab process to prepare for the season. The ESPN report said Favre would prefer not to go through arthroscopic surgery and would definitely not be willing to have major shoulder reconstruction.
Favre is currently an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team, but all the speculation this off-season has focused on his desire to play with the Vikings.

Hey Dawn, get a life! You have nothing better to do than to trash one of the all-time great QB's?
He didn't go out and search for a job with the Vikings. They came to him, remember! So if you said you had retired, and someone came up to you and offered you millions of dollars to do something you love and have done all your life, and you were considering it, would it be fair for anyone to ridicule you like you just did to Favre? Grow up! He can play if he wants to! He was content being retired and now he gets an offer! Whose blaming who?

It's Favre not Farve.
Brett Favre was a great QB and I would love to see the media sh**storm which would inevitably surround his success or failure with the Vikings.

If Favre wants to play it is his choice.....
if you don't want to see him play then don't
watch.....he doesn't have to justify his reason
to anyone.....all the Favre haters shouldn't
even log on to the latest Favre headlines.....
nobody wants to hear how you can't stand him
because it doesn't matter to Favre fans......
nothing anyone can say or make up about Favre
will matter to his fans....we support him and
would welcome him back whenever and wherever
he chooses to play....I for one hope it happens

Just retire, Brett! No more silly drama.
At least greats like Joe Montana and Steve Young had the brains to get out while they were still winners.

Quick...Name the last 40 year old QB with a torn tendon in his throwing arm to win the Super Bowl. - Think long and you'll think wrong. - I don't care if Favre plays or not,but if anybody thinks Favre will have some kind of fairy tale ending to his career, they are delusional.I know the Vikings are desperate for a QB,but somebody there needs to come to their senses, find a real QB and put an end to this charade if they want a winning season.Obviously,it sure as hell won't be Brett Favre coming to his senses.

Brett Favre goes hard......real hard, i mean he was told before going into the NFL that he shouldn't play because he had to have his stomach put back together after a major car accident in college, and he actually lasted longer than any of the other quarterbacks drafted the same year as him and his stats are better than any other quarterback ever (well except he is also the most intercepted QB ever)so if he wants to come back, i think he could play for a team that doesn't pass that much, like the Vikings, who just need a solid quarterback because they have a great running game and a really good defense, but he would be a bad fit if they asked him to throw the ball downfield more than 20-25 times a game, because his arm would get fatigued after all the wear and tear its been through.
