The rumors of Brett Favre returning to the NFL are just that according to the quarterback's agent Bus Cook. Cook said he doesn't know if Favre has spoken with Vikings coach Brad Childress or anyone else, but to the best of his knowledge, nothing is happening."As far as I know, Brett Favre is still retired," Cook said Thursday afternoon. "If he does decide he wants to play, he can still play at a high level."
Cook said he hasn't spoken with any team regarding Favre's possible comeback.
"ESPN wanted to unretire him, now I see Yahoo has something," Cook said. "Could [Favre] change his mind? I don't know."
Cook said his client loves the game and that the only way he could return is to win another championship. The Vikings are the only known team, at least according to various media outlets, that has expressed an interest in Favre. Cook said Favre would need to get his right arm looked at -- Favre has a torn biceps muscle that could require surgery, and Cook said he wasn't sure if his client was willing to do that.
There were reports that Cook was looking for a quarterback coach to help Favre grasp the offense with any possible new team. But Cook said, "It don't make any sense. Why would Brett Favre need a quarterback coach? If he came back, he might need a trainer."
So, as of today, Thursday afternoon, Brett Favre is retired.
We can all move to something else now.

Too bad. It would have been fun to watch Favre suck it up big time with the Vi-Queens. Just like the end of last season with the Jets. He ruined his impressive reputation by sucking in NY.

Poor bitter baby fudgepacker fans, your best player EVER dreamed of being a viking (probably will happen) and hates that dairy dump of a town and all you overweight inbred "couch athletes" in gay bay. The best thing favre ever did for his reputation was leave that joke of a football team, 6-10? What you call sucking in N.Y. is winning the superbowl compared to what you tards did last year, and this year you will get to be envious of detroits better record, face it, without favre, your nothing!

Brett Favre was not the best Packer. Bart Starr was better.

I get a laugh at how SOME people keep pinning this whole situation on Favre. As if Favre called the Vi-queens asking to play with them. No. Childress made the call here, and Brett turned him down. If you are a true fan of Brett, you know that Brett hates the cameras all in his face, and reporters camping out in his yard. He did NOT ask for this attention---the media did MORE than enough to hype this story up then anybody else involved. So back off Favre already.
