Mark Sanchez, QB
|
Scouting Report: Stellar athlete, possessing perhaps the most pure ability of any quarterback in the draft. Strong, NFL-ready arm. Quick feet and good mobility, avoids sacks well and can hurt defenses by scrambling. Heady quarterback, runs through reads rapidly and usually makes good decisions. Injury concerns linger -- suffered knee dislocation prior to 2008 season. Only one year as a full-time starter, and played for a team that outclassed opponents by wide margins talent-wise.
2009 Outlook: Stafford may need some time to adjust to the NFL, but Sanchez absolutely will due to his lack of experience. His demeanor makes him a perfect candidate to become a student of the game in 2009, seeing spot duty, but never any meaningful game action. Could be ready by 2010 to take on a starting role, but should be in the lineup by 2011.
