Josh Freeman, QB
|
Scouting Report: Perhaps the best pure athlete of the available quarterbacks. Huge, able to see over defenders. No doubts about his arm strength, can make any throw, and do so on the run if necessary. Scrambles well. Ceiling could be off the charts. Incredibly inconsistent at Kansas State. Accuracy is a major concern, as is his ability to read defenses. Can he mold himself into a leader?
2009 Outlook: Of the three QBs that are likely to go in the first round, Freeman is the one that will need the most seasoning before he's ready to inherit an offense. If he matures as a player, he could one day turn into an All-Pro, dominant quarterback. However, he may be just as likely to be a frustrating, turnover-prone career backup.
