Aaron Curry, LB
|
Scouting Report: Prototypical linebacker size and speed, with a 40 time in the lower 4.5s. Nose for the football. Versatile enough that teams are considering him at ILB, despite playing on the outside throughout college. Strong against the run. Great character guy. Able to blitz the quarterback, with enough speed to get around the edge and enough strength to take on blockers. Can struggle when forced to change directions. Not a flawless tackler.
2009 Outlook: Anything short of a starting spot in September will be a letdown for Curry, who appears to be one of the safest picks in a topsy-turvy draft class. He's not a perfect linebacking specimen, as he can be exposed in play-action or in the wrong scheme, but he'll either be an adequate outside guy or a spectacular inside guy for an NFL team -- and soon.
