With the draft approaching, we ignore projections and identify the dream scenario for each team in a series we call The Perfect Draft. To say the 2008 Dallas Cowboys season was tumultuous wouldn't really be giving credit to the word. The team had suspensions, Jessica Simpsons and the incredible absence of TD-ing. Dallas missed the playoffs after being a favored team going into the season and now has gone through a total redesign.
With Terrell Owens shipped to Buffalo, the passing game will go through Roy Williams, who has never been the player to take control of an offense. Balking on Ray Lewis and sticking with Tony Romo, this crew has a long way to go to be the best in their division, which is the toughest in the NFL. Along with all their obvious holes, the offensive line is a tad thin and the safety position could be improve drastically.
Louis Delmas: The Cowboys need a safety as bad as any position, and in a draft that sees Dallas have to wait 53 spots to make their first pick, Delmas might just be the best safety on the board. The Western Michigan star can help out a depleted secondary that will see Gerald Sensabaugh and Ken Hamlin in the safety roles.
After Sensabaugh and Hamlin, the Cowboys are basically at zero, with Pat Wadkins, who only played eight games last season, and Courtney Brown, who has ten total tackles in his career with Dallas. The Cowboys were exposed deep last year towards the end of the regular season, and adding someone like Delmas, who's only real drawback is his over-aggressiveness, would pay off immediately for the Dallas defense.
If Delmas drops off the board before Jerry Jones has a chance to snag him, the Cowboys would have to go after Patrick Chung or Williams Moore.
The Cowboys added Keith Brooking to its linebacking crew, but Brooking is 33 and it wouldn't hurt to add some youth to a linebacking group that includes Demarcus Ware and Greg Ellis.
Another place Dallas might look to improve is their backup quarterback position. With the signing of Jon Kitna in the offseason, at least the Cowboys have an option with some starting experience if something happened to Romo, but there is no third option at QB and getting someone in the later rounds might allow Jones to fill that void without spending a ton of money (all of this hinges on the fact that the Cowboys aren't going to go after Michael Vick, which I'm nearly 100 percent sold they will).

Really, that's the perfect draft, safety and linebacker. Really? That's lazy and uninformative.
It also doesn't consider Rashard Johnson or even safeties who visited Valley Ranch.

This is possibly the most half assed article I have yet to read in this series. Why on earth would the Cowboys go after Vick? It does not make sense after picking up Kitna. And why would you want another PR massacre when the T.O. factor obviously ruined last season. Furthermore, I'm not sure if "they have a long way to go to be best in there Division" is an accurate statement. The talent is available. They just need to get the right chemistry. Obviously Mr Bacon was under some pressure to submit this before draft day, or he is a Redskins fan.

If the Cowboys were smart, they'd go after Vick. This guy is a true talent. He's paid for his mistakes and you watch, this guy will be the modle citizen. You put MV in the offense at QB,TB,Slot or Wing and let him play. He opens you offense up to a million things: Runner,Passer,Receiver plus the pressure to carry the whole team is off his back. Dallas could take the Wildcat (really Single Wing) to a whole 'nother level. M Vick is no T.O. or Pacman.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that was dumbfounded by this crap article. Did this take you all of 20 seconds to conjure up? If you don't have any idea what your talking about, or don't want to put in the effort to make your article look like it's not done by a common fan then don't even bother.
Can't believe people get paid to write this.

Let me see if I have this straight. If someone writes an article that is slightly critical of the Cowboys then they have done a bad job. Argue with what he says.
I too expect puffery and want to hear/read positive stuff dealing with sports. I am embarrassed when Troy Aikman trash talks the Redskins.
