Jason Campbell was pretty cool about the whole "we're gonna get Jay Cutler!" business that the Redskins pulled a few weeks ago. He didn't make a stink about the possibility of being demoted and/or traded. And he didn't cry when the 'Skins publicly slapped him in the face. But things will be different if Washington -- rumored to be interested by the way -- makes a play for Mark Sanchez, according to Steve Wyche at NFL.com: this time around, Campbell will reportedly demand that the team trade him if they go looking around for another signal caller.
And this shouldn't be surprising. Or effective for that matter -- if the Redskins do plan on drafting Sanchez, they'll be trading up, obviously, and after that sort of move, it has to be assumed that Dan Synder and Vinny Cerrato will make some sort of move to recoup their losses. Such a move will probably involve sending Campbell to a team in immediate need of a starting quarterback, like the Jets.
In other words, Campbell can posture publicly all he wants, but if the Redskins are dead-set on getting Sanchez, Campbell is already out the door anyway. Of course, two potentially fun amusing nightmarish situations could emerge. First, the Skins draft Sanchez and trade Campbell and all the JC-apologists immediately fire up the hate machine on Sanchez.
Far more enticing though, is the idea of the Skins trying to trade up, having their move made public and still managing to get beat out for Sanchez by the Jets or Seahawks or Browns. Then everyone's in a world of pain. Except for those of us who get to watch.

I don't blame JC for making his comments since the team continues make overtures to other QBs. I mean HELLO the Redskins NEED more important players than another QB, but then again, they are signing their THIRD punter this offseason.

ight for real this need to stop. jason was not that bad last year first off he dident turn the ball over till like week 7 or somthing around that. and besides he has one year left on his contract let him play it out. if hes bad then most likely we'll have another high pick for a QB next year.

As a true redskins fan, why on earth do Synder and Cerrato want to ruin our franchise?! What will the point be, of drafting Sanchez? I mean, hes good and i like this kid as a QB. But i dont think that QB is a pressing need right now in this draft. Jason Campbell needs a break to get his groove in his ONE system for alteast more than a year, which is this year. Also, campbell isn't our ONLY "problem".
1. Our O-line can't guard--BIG NEED
2. Need Pass Rushers
3. And then we have other minor needs like LB, WR, etc.
Also, even if we did draft Sanchez, do you honestly want a kid who is a junior to come and lead your team? It would take him a solid 1-2 years to get settled.
My suggestion to the Mr. Synder and the front office of my SKINS would be to stay at 13 or move up to get some player like Orakpo or someone along that line. 2. Put some trust into JC, if he doesn't do well this season then get a QB next year which will have plenty of good and SOLID QBs such as Sam Bradford and etc.
PLSSS let JC stay!
HAIL!!!

Redskins should ONLY draft Orakpo at 13 if not trade back and get one of the USC linebackers and a second tier tackle.
Sanchez & Stafford = OVER HYPED and OVER RATED
Jason Campbell has gotten better every year that he has played.
Dan Snyder = Al Davis Jr???

Keep Campbell, trade down a few spots at pick time and draft a LB/ DE and OT. Come on why risk years of time on hype? If you trade up make it for Orakpo. JC is set to have a breakout year. Heck we could even get a WR and I'd be happy but not a USC over-hyped child.

trade up for sanchez, piss off campbell, have someone else pick sanchez before the skins get to him anyway, trade campbell to the jets for a first round pick on the day of the draft, orakpo with the first pick, and anybody with some kinda height to catch the ball with the second first round pick, in conclusion..colt brennan is the starter for the next 17 years.

What do these so called analyst's/ media folks have against the skins..really? Did Dan snyder drop them on their head when they were babies? I am tired of all the biased media coverage. And for all the Skins fans, JC hasn't proven anything yet and the fans were calling for his head during the 2nd half of last season. The way he handled the Jay Cutler situation doesn't make him the next Joe Montana. This is a make or break season for him. What is his trade value anyway when even the Browns and Denver did not want him? maybe a 3rd-4th round pick. The Skins don't have to trade JC even if they draft Sanchez.

Dirty Sanchez is going to be a first round bust. Heath Shuler anyone? The Jets or Bucs or Vikings would be getting a steal in Campbell. We support you JC and you dont deserve this s**t. And do the crackhead CB5 supporters even watch football. CB5 will never be anything more than a decent back up.
FIRE VINNY!!!! FIREVINNY!!!!

im tired of all this dan synder bs. i hope they get sanchez and campbell goes to minasota where hel go far with that offense. im a skins fan for life but im sick of synder's impatient ways. sanchez is a one year underclassmen who was surronded with one of the best teams last year and his defense may of been one of the best ever plus even his coach doesnt think hes ready. if he was as good as advertised then he would of beat out 2008 5th round pick john david booty(whos backing up travaris jackson and sage rosenfels now) for the qb spot

This pisses me off so much. I really hope this is a smokescreen. The skins will be garbage this year if this trade really goes down. I cant believe all the fans see whats going on but Snyder has his head up his a$$. Campbell is a class act but you can only push the poor guy so far. Dont turn his determination into being alienated.

Just when I think Dan Snyder has turned the corner, things like this come up. The 'Skins have a perfectly capable QB, but the shiny, new toy (Sanchez) has caught his eye, and now, he is making Redskins fans want to string him up by not drafting by need. They NEED and OT or even a DE, but not a QB. Hmm, didn't they draft one last year. Oh yeah, Colt Brennan, so that seems to be a wasted pick too, and I have two words for early first round QB draft picks, Heath Shuler.

It looks like we'll be drafting a QB in 2010 either way. If Campbell regresses, we'll let him walk and grab a guy like McCoy or Bradford in the first round...if he plays lights out, he'll probably seek a franchise where he'll actually get some respect - or push Dan Snyder's pocketbook to the limit to see exactly how badly the Redskins franchise actually wants to keep him.
The thing that's held us back is our lack of consistency at quarterback. Campbell's the first guy we've had as the opening day starter three years running since, what, the 80's? He might not be Peyton Manning, but if you line Campbell up against Brunell (bar the one very good season), Ramsey, Wuerffel, Matthews, he suddenly doesn't look so bad. Face it - for all his faults, Jason Campbell is the best QB we've had in years.
That's nothing against Sanchez. He's inexperienced, but I believe he'll be alright if he gets drafted by a team where he sits under the mentorship of an older QB for a couple years and doesn't have to start right away - like Seattle, for instance.
But if the Redskins were to draft him, not only would they lose Campbell, but they would likely be forced to give up a 1st this year and next year to move up into the top ten to grab him - which Snyder said isn't happening, by the way. And, for all the crazy crap he pulls, I tend to believe Snyder when he makes a point of saying that he's not going to do something. Especially since he's already proven it. After all, two firsts was the Broncos' asking price for Cutler, and once Snyder knew that, he didn't push it any further. And if he wasn't going to give up two firsts for - let's be honest - a star-level young QB in the prime of his career, what makes everyone think that he'd give up two firsts for a guy that hasn't started a game in the NFL, and only started a season and some change worth of games in college?
It's this last fact especially - coupled with the fact that I don't think that the Redskins' cap could handle this AND trying to get players we actually need at the OT, DE, and LB positions later - that makes me very skeptical that the Redskins will draft Mark Sanchez.

This is a business I get it. Jay Cutler I could see. However USC does not produce franchise QB's. I like Sanchez but he is overrated. I would rather trade Vinney. Unbelievably incompetent.
