Bears Unconcerned With Cutler Partying

Last week, some photos of Jay Cutler (gasp!) out on the town and possibly drinking (OMG!!) surfaced and the internet paparazzi/fun police went wild. As a Bears fan, I can tell you there aren't many things this offseason that brought on more personal indifference. In fact, the only real thing I took away from the picture was that it was cool seeing him hanging out with his new tight end, Greg Olsen. Relationship between QB and TE = Good.

Anyway, Bears general manager Jerry Angelo has publicly stated he's not overly concerned about the supposed issue, either.
``I'm not going to micro-manage a person,'' Angelo said. ``If we have to do that, that's not a good sign. Some lessons they have to see amongst themselves. I don't think that's a big thing at this point. It's what he does on Sunday is how we're going to evaluate him. That's the bottom line.

``He's got a good foundation coming in here. He's a young quarterback. He's played in this league. He's shown what he can do. He gets it.''

Angelo was asked specifically about Cutler's drinking habits related to the diabetes.

``When we did our research ... we know he goes out, we know he does those things,'' Angelo said. ``We talked to our medical people. We talked to the Denver medical people. It comes with the territory. We're comfortable with it. I really can't answer it beyond that.''
One of the major issues that has been raised is whether or not Cutler should be drinking with his diabetes. I'm not going to comment on that because I'm not a medical expert, but I can say that Cutler probably knows how to deal with himself and in none of these pictures could you even conclusively tell he was drinking. He certainly didn't appear intoxicated, so maybe he had just one? Oh, I know. A woman who claimed she basically stalked Cutler that night said he was drinking beer all night.

Look, as long as Cutler doesn't do things of this nature on the morning of a game, or harm himself, I couldn't care less. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Jerry Angelo (seriously, that just feels odd).
