There have been some big trades in the NFL lately, mainly involving guys who wanted to get away from the team they had been playing for.Quarterback Jay Cutler was dealt from Denver to Chicago, netting the Broncos a nice haul of draft picks and Kyle Orton. Over the weekend, the Buffalo Bills got a couple of picks from Philadelphia for disgruntled left tackle Jason Peters. Wide receivers Braylon Edwards and Anquan Boldin are currently on the block, and now it looks as though Chad Ocho Cinco would apparently love to be, too.
While the Cardinals and Browns don't seem to be hiding much in their efforts to make a deal, the Bengals haven't really told us anything regarding Ocho Cinco's status. It doesn't seem that they're intent on trading him, and a former teammate says it's got Ocho Cinco all emotional.
Chad Ocho Cinco is so unhappy in Cincinnati, it's bringing him to tears.I'm going to guess such a public pronouncement isn't going to help his trade value.
That's the message his former teammate, new Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, delivered on the NFL Network Friday night.
"Chad Johnson called me today. Crying," Houshmandzadeh said. "He wonders why everyone can get traded but him."
One has to assume that Ocho Cinco will eventually get his way. However, as he gets older and clearly not any more mature, will there be a real market for his services?
If you're the Vikings, Giants, Redskins, Eagles, or any other team that could use a very good wide receiver, why would you give up anything of major consequence for Ocho Cinco.
Furthermore, what happens if he goes to a team that doesn't have the number 85 available?
