The Perfect Draft: Buffalo Bills

With the draft approaching, we ignore projections and identify the dream scenario for each team in a series we call The Perfect Draft.

The Buffalo Bills looked like the perfect "sleeper" team last year. They came out of the gates hot, Tom Brady went down for the season and, suddenly, they had a very good/great shot at winning the AFC East. But things went horribly wrong, they didn't make the playoffs and now they start the season with Terrell Owens and without Marshawn Lynch, who's busy acting out a Warren Zevon song, but with less money. Or something like that.

Point being: the Bills are in need of some help in the draft. But they're in an awkward position of not knowing who qualifies for a "future Bill" and/or whether their window is now or in 2-3 years. The Owens signing indicates the former, but the Lynch issues certainly point to the latter. And, unfortunately, they have to plan their draft on one or the other.
The Ideal Pick

Everette Brown. Or Tyson Jackson. it really all depends on whether they think that Aaron Schobel can give them anything at all this year. If they want to gamble that Schobel can play, maybe they go with Jackson to beef up the middle of the line. If not -- or if they want to consider using Brown at LB instead -- they'll hit up the Seminole product. But their number-one focus has to be the defense; Brown probably makes the most sense because he can be a hybrid DE/LB and give them a pass-rushing terror with some flexibility.

Other Needs

It's also worth noting that Aaron Maybin could be slotted in the one spot, if Buffalo is trying to desperately appeal to the nearby Nittany Lion fan contingency as a last-ditch effort to keep the team out of Canada. Wide receiver was an issue, and I still think it is -- even with Owens in town. He's not a long-term solution and if someone who has upside drops (Hakeem Nicks?), I could see the Bills gambling. Additionally, running back. Yeah, it's awkward. But here's the thing: there are some seriously talented RBs like Beanie Wells and Knowshon Moreno that could be slipping late. I know Marshawn is the "future" (in theory), but if a stud RB falls to them in the second, they might make a play.,
