Because this was Lynch's second run-in with the law in the past 12 months, it was more or less assumed that the Bills' running back would be suspended by the NFL. And now it's official, according to a report from ESPN's Michael Smith, Roger Goodell will suspend Lynch for the first three games of the 2009 season.
Smith reports, via sources, that an announcement is expected as early as Thursday afternoon and that Lynch will appeal the suspension.
None of this is surprising, of course. In today's NFL, if you have two criminal brushes in the span of 365 days, you can expect a suspension, particularly if those charges involve the phrases "striking a female pedestrian with a car" and "carrying a concealed weapon."
For the Bills, this news couldn't come at a worse time; they're focusing on shoring up other areas in this month's NFL Draft and yet, suddenly find themselves with one suspended running back and another member of the backfield -- Fred Jackson -- unhappy with his contract situation.
In other words, Lynch's troubles might not totally alter the 2009 NFL Draft, but his suspension certainly isn't bad news for prospects like Beanie Wells, Knowshon Moreno and Donald Brown, who are hoping to see their first-round value boosted.

Living in the Buffalo area I remember well the incident when Marshawn Lynch struck a woman pedestrian with his car. What this blog does not tell you is that he struct the woman, did'nt stop (hit and run)and did not turn himself in to police for days. Then he did'nt show, only his smart lawyer showed up for him.In other words he left the woman lying in the street, and she could have died for all Marshawn Lynch cared.Oh yeah,he got fined $250 for this crime.Guess we should all be big star athletes since they can get away with almost anything scott free.Must be the american way these days!!!!

Are those overpaid, whinning little babies ever going to learn? I don't care how talented you think you are, you're ALSO SUPPOSED TO BE A ROLE MODEL! Carrying guns, doing drugs, beating women, etc - WHAT KIND OF ROLE MODELS DID "THEY" HAVE? As far as I'm concerned, anyone can make a mistake BUT, you make it again YOU'RE GONE!

sports pay way too much, run a ball 50 yards, make a ball go into a basket, hit a ball across a net, hit a ball with a bat. c'mon what about the people that actually make the US survive, like teachers, firefighters, "good" police officers, "good" doctors...when did sports become such a big "must have"

@mikerehfel, its a huge difference in making a mistake and having the "i don't care attitude" i think money is a big issue. they have these attitudes that money solves everything and so far it has allowed many of them to actually get a way with murder. look at rae curruth, look at the wrestler that took his family's life and then his own. you rarely hear anything from the small figure guys, very rarely. maybe in the locker-room they have a saying that you're a nobody until you've done a crime...

These cold, hard, indisputable, facts cannot be denied.
From the FBI:
Black males age 14 - 35, commit 56.6% of all violent crime in America, while they comprise less than 3.5% of the population, and contribute less than 1/10 of 1% to the gross national product.

Ghetto trash is always trash no matter how much money you make playing professional sports. When will these punks learn to behave and be good citizens and role models for the fans that pay to see them play.

Generally when one of you bigots posts a racially sweeping comment like the one you just did my most common tactic is to respond in kind by pointing out the fact that white people also commit crimes(I know it's shocking but true) so now i'll try a different tactic. I realize that black people arent perfect, and I also realize that Jayson Williams is an idiot. But check this out when your people stop commiting mass shootings, molesting kids, killing their wives, stealing billions of dollars from others and drowning their kids because they are "in the way" THEN you can make marshawn lynchs' actions about all black people but hey screw that how about simply WASHING YOUR HANDS WHEN YOU USE A PUBLIC TOILET!!!!! Or is that one to hard.
