Cincinnati tempted legal fate on Tuesday by signing Tank Johnson, and on Wednesday, karma evened the score. Cornerback Leon Hall, who had a solid 2008 season, was charged with a DUI and driving left of center in Ohio. As Ryan Wilson reminded us, the Bengals have been trying to clean up their image since a ridiculous stretch of arrests between June of 2007 and April of 2006. While the frequency of run-ins with the law has slowed, I don't think anyone will be confusing Cincinnati with a Boy Scout troop anytime soon.
And just to save everyone some time from now on -- like, say, FanHouse bloggers -- let me present the Cincinnati Bengals Legal Trouble Mad-Lib. Feel free to fill it in whenever the next, inevitable, Bengals issue pops up.
Cincinnati Bengals (position) (Player Name) was arrested on (date) for (charge against player) with a blood-acoho. The Bengals have now had (number of offseason arrests) since they ended the season (below .500 record). In other Bengals news, Carson Palmer proclaimed himself healthy after a lengthy rehabilitation to recover from (devastating injury)

Unbelievable. This really starts at the top-the type of player signed, and then the supervision to follow. Moving this team to LA or for that matter anywhere under new ownership would be a great way to pursue a new start. You feel for the fans, but this joke has to come to an end.

Seriously?! This is incredible!! What is in the water in Cincy? Hall is a character guy too. I'm starting to truly feel that there is a real lack of dedication in this entire franchise. And signing Tank Johnson? WTF is wrong with these guys? Oh, and for the record if Cincy was smart they'd fire Marv and hire the Pittsburgh QB coach...perhaps they've heard of him...his name is Ken Anderson...sheesh!!

This idiot should suffer the stiffest consequences to prevent tragedies like Nick Adenhart's death, who was struck by a drunk driver running a red light in Southern California last night.

Wow, two athletes in the news today for getting in trouble. I still say there should be a clause in these huge contracts that states, if you get arrested you lose contract...period.
