Michael Vick's bankruptcy hearing on Thursday went pretty much as expected. There was the news that he'll be paid $600,000 for cooperating with a video company producing a documentary on him, and there were some explanations over how Vick will repay the many creditors he owes money. But slipped in among all that was the rather shocking news that Vick already has a potential job lined up. If the NFL won't reinstate him right away, he already has another job offer -- as a construction worker.
The construction job will apparently pay $10 an hour, which means it won't do much to whack away the massive amounts of debt Vick still has, but the good news for Vick is that he'd be able to keep all of it if the court accepts his settlement--his proposed settlement would allow him to keep the first $750,000 he earns each year.
It's very hard to imagine that Vick will spend much time manning a shovel, a jackhammer or a Bobcat, but hey, it is a way to show that he's willing to do whatever he needs to do to earn a paycheck and restore his name.

This is stupid. The NFL should just let him play, everyone knows he made a mistake and im sure he knows it too. No person working a average job is going to be able to pay back what he owes to the Falcons. He should be reinstated and the NFL should just garnish his wages. Even though Vick made a mistake, he did his time like everyone else and im sure there is a hand full of teams that will want him. Send him to Denver I hear they need a QB... I mean its not like Vick is in any position to demand a trade lol

I'm tired of all the bleeding hearts who think Vick should still play football. You are all the reason why athletes think they are above the law. You are all crying that they should come back, no matter what they do. Let Vick work as a construction worker. He should be happy he has a job at all. Many regular joes don't even get that chance

I am not a bleeding heart, I am a proud Libertarian - that means I am more conservative than Republicans. (Real Repubs, not the fake liberalized ones that Bush brought into the limelight.) I think Vick should be able to play again, though. Believe it or not, many people do go back to their jobs after jail time. Let Vick do so. And sure, it was wrong for him to harm animals, but there have been people that stayed active in the NFL after being convicted of spousal abuse. Is that really any different? No - so why should Vick be treated differently?

WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD VICK! You will be making exactly what my store manager daughter does. Now you get to see how it feels. I have no pity for you. You had your shot and you blew it to destroy animals. You do NOT deserve to play in the NFL again.

Vick was wrong for dogfighting. Where were these self-rightous people when a few years ago, Kerry Collins was collecting DUIs in North Carolina, calling his teammates racial slurs, and quit his team like Paterno in Atlanta. Before the next season started he had been picked up and promised a chance to compete for the starting job.

Funny thing about all that money, where did it all go? My bet is he has it hidden or a large chunk of it hidden anyway.
The hell with the guy, let him whine he's in the real world now and will soon know well enough to leave dogs alone. Besides all this guy is going to do is file bankrupcy, then get busted for tax evasion somewhere down the line and eventually he'll be living on the street with his little bro. selling crack or meth.

ok, we all know that he is going to play again, the man has mad talent(questionable morals), animal cruelty is just plain wrong. but with these tough economic times this man is handed a construction job making $10/hr for 40 hours a week (wtf) are you serious, there are fathers and husbands out there that would probably give just about anything for that job that was given to a guy who had it all and CHOSE to throw it away. Im not a vick HATER but this is crazy!!!
